    D&D 2E What's a Good 2e Low Level Adventure?

Even though this is for forgotten realms, i have always enjoyed running Haunted Halls of Eveningstar , It's for levels 1 to 3 set within the Kingdom of Cormyr.

    D&D 5E Ranger Halfling

    I guess it depends on a character's concept. I have a 12th level Forest Gnome Beastmaster/Ranger with a Giant Frog as a companion/mount.

D&D 5E Would you buy a Dark Sun setting book for 5e?

I voted no, unless the they do a spectacular job on it. If they can keep the lore of the original box set intact and add some mechanics needed for the setting and they don't suck, I would get it. If it is anything like what they did with the 4e version, I will not touch it.

    D&D 5E Animal Companion

Thank you for the replies. I am just going to reskin a few things and go from there. No sense in trying to be realistic when you have crow necromancers and hedgehog paladins and so forth running around.

    D&D 5E Animal Companion

That is some of the thematics I am looking for. Just not well represented in the monster manual. Is there a 3PP supplement that has mundane animal stats by chance?

    D&D 5E Animal Companion

I did not really think of a fey aspect, that is a good idea. I was in tunnel vision mode, looking at MM for small and tiny critters to fill in. I will have to ponder that. I was also thinking of using the monster creation rules from the DMG to see if I could wing it (pun intended).

    D&D 5E Animal Companion

I have recently bought a copy of the Humblewood Campaign. The premise is that the characters races are anthropomorphic animals. The typical PHB classes are allowed. My question is how to figure appropriate companions for characters that are already animals. Just seems weird to have a Vulpin...

WotC 5E 2020 Book Clue - I need your help!

I hope that as well. Cormyr is my favorite section of the realms followed by Mulhurond and rest of the old empires

OD&D Hit Point progression for demi humans

Yep, after further reading I finally found it. On p. 129 of the RC, it plainly states it. No more hp. I have all the old books on PDF, so I will dig through them for more options to add/use. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Have a good day.

OD&D Hit Point progression for demi humans

I am getting ready to run a game set during the 30 years war era. I plan on using the different races to supplant the real world factions of the Catholic/Protestant beliefs. I am using the Rules Compendium as the base rule set. The question I have is this, Do the demi humans gain additional hp...

D&D 5E Dark Sun Conversion: Campaign Guide & Monster Manual

Nicely done. I am sooo.. going to use this. Thank you for your hard work. I will probably make some minor changes with the players book. The monster manual though will get used as is. I like it all. I feel that you did a decent job of keeping the flavor of 2e. From reading you above comments, I...

D&D 5E Are you sick of the Swordcoast?

I would love for some Cormyr & Sembia stuff. Thay and the old kingdoms of Mulhurond, Unther and Chessenta would be my second choice.

D&D 5E Those who come from earlier editions, why are you okay with 5E healing (or are you)?

I also use a homebrew modified dmg version as well. I also use the option where you have to have a medicine kit to use your hit dice. For long rests you just spend hit dice as per short rest. I also have players/creatures regenerate their level/HD + Constitution modifier naturally to solve an...

    D&D 5E Critiquing the System

I really like the game engine. It allows me to do more Role play v/s Roll play from a DM'ing perspective. My biggest complaint is actually the classes in of themselves. For myself, I enjoy running/playing lower power games. Just being a guy that does heroic thing to become the hero of the...

    Human Viability

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. With careful consideration, I have decided to just roll with it as is. There are some good suggestions above, that I will keep in mind, in case my players have anything negative to say about it. I was planning on using the die roll method (4d6...

    Human Viability

They are min/maxers, and i do not mean that as bad connotation. They primarily make characters for tactical combat rather than roleplay and I can work with that. That is what they enjoy, while I go more for the role play aspect. I do not punish them for that playstyle, after all if they are not...

    Human Viability

Hello all, Long time lurker, first time poster. I have been running a 5th edition game for a bit now that is going to come to a close in a couple months. I currently use just the core books, with handpicked material from some of the splat books, and some modified/nerfed feats. I have been...
