Just thought I'd point it out - don't worry about DR being deadly when BS gets nerfed, since DR is getting nerfed with it.

Yes,but since you most likely won't be having the correct material you have to deal with it. Even 5 DR is significant when its comming off every attack, much less 15.

People really think the power going from the spell to the material of the sword, makes the hero look buffer? Especially if he carries the golfbag, I really see Wesley or Tarzan form Mark's exaples with a golfbag... Not! Sarge, maybe ;there is that 40 to 80lb pack we keep hearing about.

People keep saying the power should come from the hero, rather than the spell. I would assume this goes for tools as well.

Agreed, in my opinion a tool is a tool is a tool. Whatever is needed to get the job done. Whether that is magic or an adamantine weapon. Exept in the case of materials being the difference you need the golfbag, or a tremendously high damage to bypass 15 DR. Which means you better have a very high str and a two-handed weapon, because I don't see there being very many holy-silver weapons. I see maybe one per party, and thats pushing it.

Personally, I think it will be fun having long, drawn out fights with creatures the party is unprepared for, it should make battles more interesting and entertaining. I am all for making creatures more fearsome as long as they are not unbeatable.

That's the problem, unless you are a specific build they are unbeatable. It's tough for the 18 str barbarian with two-handed weapon. Unless your lucky enough to have the correct material which in some cases strikes of Dues EX Machina its unbeatable.
