Play: When captured by a superstitous culture, if you are an influential cleric, etc.
Effect: An impromptu solar eclipse darkens the sun, and all that implies to the character's situation.

Effect: You are completely unimpressed, it does nothing to you.

70. THERE WILL BE NO HANGING ON MY WATCH:
Play: Anytime a character is able to shoot a rope with an arrow, bolt, or other peircing projectile.
Effect: The projectile slices cleanly through the rope, no attack roll or damage roll required (DMs discretion).

Can anyone think of a movie reference to name that one better? :)

Stare Death in the Face
Play: Whenever the character is killed by a creature's attack.
Effect: The creature about to kill the PC is instead unable to attack that round, and the lethal attack will take place with the same roll and with the same participants the next round (unless prevented in the meantime).

Handy verse the Medusa.

I've got something in my eye

Play: When the character has failed a save verses a Gaze attack.
Effect: Character makes the save but is counted as blinded for the next round, while he gets the dust from his eye.


Have you just farted?
Play: When the character is suffering negative modifiers to any social skill rolls.
Effect: Pass the negative social modifiers to the next nearest player character.

When Bagpuss goes to sleep all his friends go to sleep...
Play: When you decide to rest.
Effect: No wandering monsters or random encounters will disturb your sleep.

Had to add that one.

Effect: The DM must give you a plan that will successfully extract your character(s) from the situation. No guarantee is given, however, that the DM's plan won't get you into another situation that is just as dangerous or embarrassing.

Effect: the first secret door you come across is revealed.
