101 Magical Garments

Kaodi

Legend
You would think that in a magical world there would be thousands of kind of magical garments. I was thinking we might start with just 101; robes, vestments, mantles, shirts, vests, capes, and cloaks. That sort of thing.

Discussions of various attributes of items beyond their function would also be good. For instance, I have no idea what my first item should cost.

1. Golden Mantle of Alkahestry - A garment made from magical golden cloth that is completely immune to acid, it confers on the wearer a +4 Dodge bonus to AC and Reflex Saves against attacks and effects that primarily inflict acid damage.

2. Glasses of Reading - The wearer is able to read any written non-magical language.

3. Dry Boots - The wearer's feet remain warm and dry unless the boots are fully submerged in liquid.

4. Drinking Vessel of Care - While held, liquid cannot be accidentally spilled or sloshed out of this goblet, tankard, mug or cup, although it can be deliberately poured out. Holding the vessel parallel to the ground will be considered "deliberately pouring" the liquid inside, and the magical effect is suspended at that time.

EDIT: Hmmm, I guess a drinking vessel isn't a garment, although there are dwarves and halflings who might treat it as at least as important.

5. Sunglasses-These glasses grant the wearer with protection from bright light if they have light sensitivity or light blindness. You are also immune to the Flare spell.

6. Chef's Hat-This white hat grants the wearer with a +5 circumstance bonus on Profession:Cooking checks.

7. Dragon Mask- This mask made to look like a dragon's face, will grant the wearer a daily breath attack of either a 30ft line or cone depending on the type of dragon the mask was made to resemble, with the reflex dc equal to 10+ half the wearer's level + the wearer's constitution modifier. This mask also grants a +4 circumstance bonus to intimidate checks.

5. Sunglasses-These glasses grant the wearer with protection from bright light if they have light sensitivity or light blindness. You are also immune to the Flare spell.

We've actually long had these in our games. It is the easiest way around the light sensitivity problem that certain races have. Alternatively some DMs have just removed the light sensitiveness but that is another cure :P

I guess I better give suggestions then.

8. Tight black wraps can protect vampire or similar "explosively" light sensitive creatures from the effects of daylight (from the sun or a spell) even at close exposure. The wearer of the garment appears to bet covered from head to foot in thin black cloth wrappings. While within the wraps take a -1 penalty to AC and -2 to reflex saves while worn.

9. Phoenix feather, generally attached to a hat or similar garment, will spontaneously burst into flame and then regrow into its full height of beauty. The effect can take minutes or days between triggers. The flame from the burst can catch objects on fire, but generally not the object to which it is attached. When attached it cannot be removed, any attempts to remove it trigger the burst effect. It has no other effects.

10. Tikela's Chimerings: These earrings produce the effects of a Ghost Sound spell on command; 1/day - The Earrings can protect the wearer per the Nondetection spell; CL5 Craft Wonderous Items; Market Value 7500gp; Body Slot: Head

11. Epaulette of the Neolith
Two shoulderplates made from granite. Made in ancient times, by a dwarven race called the Pech. These Granite shoulderplates where worn by their king, and had a cerimonial and commanding battle purpose. The Epaulettes are ancient over 25000 years old, and the exact history is lost to all but the Pech themselves. A Pech can recognise these on a Knowledge (history) check (DC 12). Once the Epaulette of the Neolith are in the hands of a true Pech King, they will once again rise to power. The Epaulettes are called Kroag Naplach (King’s Fate) in the Pech language.

The Epaulette weigh 80 Lbs if wearing them (See page 169 for encumbrance).
Powers
• +2 Strength Bonus.
• +2 AC Bonus.
• Endure elements lvl 12 (5 hp/round, all energy attacks Heat, cold, acid, electricity, but no sonic).
• Meld into stone (lvl12) at will

12. Malchabiz Magical Cloak of Mana Manifestation.
This great cloak is made of fine golden threading on the outside depicting many magical runes that seems to flow with power and great magical ability. The inside of the cloak is luminous light blue velvet with embroidered star constellations. The cloak has a 15 inch high collar that is gold on the inside as well as the outside and seems to hint to the true names of mighty creatures.
The wearer has several mayor advantages while wearing this garment.
• Cloaked Casting; +1 bonus to spell DC when targeting a foe denied Dexterity bonus to AC.
• All spells cast have a +5 DC to identify with spellcraft.

13. Iron Shirt of the Linnorn Kings - The wearer's damage reduction class feature improves as if wearer had seven more levels of barbarian, with two exceptions: if the wearer has one or more levels in barbarian but uses the savage barbarian or superstitious archetype, they instead gain damage reduction as if they were a standard 7th level barbarian; and if the wearer has one or more levels of barbarian but is an invulnerable rager, they gain the seven level bonus to that class feature.

Goblin Snail Cap

This cap is made from glued together snails, and is a slimy thing to wear. The cap was created by the great Goblin Shaman Twoears, who later became known as Slimears after an unfortunate accident with a rock, knife and several strange objects that defy description and for personal reasons cannot be mentioned without affecting the social standing of the goblin.

The cap almost seems alive and made from moving snails and slugs, the cap transfers a +1 Natural Armor (stacks with other natural armor)

Mucus: Once a day as a free action, you can excrete a trail of mucus 10ft wide which covers the space you move over and lasts for 10 minutes. Mucus covered area has the effects of a grease and web spell DC 14. You are immune to this mucus. The mucus can be burned away as per the web spell.
