1st Edition AD&D: Greyhawk (Full)

I'm going to play a human ranger. My stats, from here, are:
STR: 16
INT: 17
WIS: 16
DEX: 12
CON: 13
CHA: 14
COM: 8
Solidly mediocre. At least the mental stats increase my odds of psionics ;-]

I'll try to work on the details over the next few days. I plan on either specializing in longsword or longbow, depending on party composition.

Akoma is a wild horse, pale in color, and slender. Although he appears frail, he remains loyal. Valeska treats him with the utmost care, respect, and love, always knowing that Akoma's dedication is the greatest gift he can give.

Born in a small fishing village along the Nyr Dyv, Valeska was always known for her fair face and kind heart. Despite being a favored pursuit growing up, she always could turn the boys away with either a kind word--or simply physically outmaneuvering them. She has embraced Mayaheine's order out of a simple joyful love of her fellows.

I do not feel that the Seelie Court is an acceptable divine patron for a paladin, what with their associations with chaos. A lawful good church would be preferred, although a lawful neutral or neutral good church might suffice. Alternately you could follow a cause or a noble patron. Do you know much about the Greyhawk setting? If not, I can provide some pointers.
Roll percentile for your starting strength, dexterity, and constitution.

For hit points, roll 1d10 and 1d6, then divide the result by 2, rounding up. If the roll is less than the minimum, take the minimum.

Done. As for the Seelie Court, I was seeing it as the name of a group of mostly LG brownies and other LG fairy-like creatures, overseen by a Bronze Dragon (also LG). The fisher secondary skill would work with that background. If you would prefer I choose a Greyhawk faith, I'll look them up and choose one. Thanks!

The Seelie Court is an actual pantheon in the World of Greyhawk. It is made up of mostly chaotic (some neutral, some good) deities whose primary concern is the realm of the fey. Fey, by and large, are chaotic in nature. To find an entire group of them that are lawful would be practically unheard of. Very powerful magic would most likely be at work somehow magically compelling the fey to act against their nature. Brownies are, of course, the exception, but they exist primarily in isolated communities. Maybe I have a lack of imagination, but the concept of a paladin devoted to a small cadre of little pixies led by a dragon seems a bit off-kilter. I just don't see a knightly tradition sprouting up around that kind of atmosphere. And then there's the issue of the nature of dragons in the World of Greyhawk themselves. If your character did serve a dragon, it would be likely that he wouldn't know it. And in order for something like that to have the proper effect, even out-of-character knowledge of such a fact would lessen the impact of the eventual discovery of your character's true patron.

Your character doesn't have to be devoted to a church or a god, that's simply the most common association for paladins. You could choose to serve a noble or royal family that serves the cause of lawful good instead. But seeing how paladinhood is almost universally a human tradition, I don't think it would fit the nature of the class for your character to serve a community of fey and their dragon leader.
