2 Weapon fighters.....

I think that instead of the elven thinblades, it would be more prudent to say stick to rapiers maybe or possibly longswords, I don't know.....extra dam vs extra crit poss???
Remember that you can finesse the thinblades and rapiers, but not the longsword or its, errrm, half-brother ;)

So unless you're planning to qualify for ITWF and GTWF through Ranger or some adapted version of Complete Warrior's Swashbuckler, you'll have to have a high Dex and you'll end up doing more damage by hitting often than by getting the larget die and mediocre strength bonus.

Disarm isn't much use, unless you have a high strength score (opponents can use dex or strength, you're limited to brute force), which is unlikely if you have weapon finesse and the 19 dex needed for the 3rd 2 weapon feat.
You're thinking of trip which makes use of an opposed Strength, with the defender having the option of Dex, check modified by creature size to determine success.

Disarm uses an opposed attack role modified by weapon and creature size. So you can disarm, just not as well against or as well as someone using a two handed weapon.

Yeah, a goliath psychic warrior who uses Expansion to grow to huge size. :D

There's some debate over whether Monkey Grip and Powerful Build stack. RAW it seems that they don't, but some people call "common sense!" and let them. Personally I wouldn't, but that's just me.

I definately don't think Dervish when coupled with Scout is not worth looking into because the movement bonuses don't stack. Dervish's Dervish Dance is great, letting *each* attack of a Full Attack get the extra Skirmish Damage from the Scout's ability. Also, Dervish can treat the scimitar as a light weapon (perhaps you're DM would allow you to switch the Scimitar with a Longsword since both are fairly evenly matched in terms of stats (either more overall damage or more crits)).

Sure, there are some weaknesses in the overall set up, but Scout/Dervish/Tempest is probably one of the strongest overall builds, especially at higher levels, in terms of a mobile fighter.

Even better: take a level of "goliath barbarian". When you rage, you grow to Large. Then Expansion bump you to the one after that.

I wouldn't either, John Q. My players, even the powergamer among them, have never dared ask me if they could use Monkey Grip anyway. :)

But common sense ? A huge bastard sword would be, what, 15 feet long or so ? Yeah, I can see a 7 feet tall goliath wielding two of those with no problem at all. :) Even Warhammer product covers don't go that far. :)

Expansion doesn't stack with other things that makes you gain a size category. Powerful Build does, though. That's why Goliath and Half-Giant Psychic Warriors are so badass. Unless your campaign takes place mostly in dungeons with some tight spaces, I'd even say they're overpowered. Even without monkey grip, they can be huge creatures that wield gargantuan weapons.

There's also a feat in some Dungeon mag (the recent-ish one with the Lich Queen) that gives you another attack, all at a -2. Kind of like Flurry.

I hadn't even considered Monkey Grip, yikes!!! Good thing though as I think me DM AND the players would start throwing sharp objects in my general direction.

Having looked at the books over the weekend I think a build such as Scout1/Fighter5/Dervish5 seems like a good start with the following feats:

1st/Scout - 2 Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus: Scimitar.
2nd/Fighter - Dodge.
3rd/Fighter - Combat Expertise, Mobility.
4th/Fighter - Nothing.
5th/Fighter - Weapon Specialization: Scimitar.
6th/Fighter - Weapon Finesse.
7th/Dervish - Nothing.
8th/Dervish - Nothing.
9th/Dervish - Improved 2 Weapon Fighting.
10th/Dervish - Nothing.
11th/Dervish - Nothing.

And then take the next 5 levels in Tempest.

I think that's all ok? Anyone make any improvements on that?

If I really wanted to change the weapon focus etc. to Elven thinMUNCHKINblade I suppose I could always ask a friendly wizard to cast a wish on me or would I get beaten for meta-gaming?
