I had wondered about the intent.Yeah, that is actually where I got the name from. I always thought it would make a cool name for a fantasy town full of mysterious very powerful people who may or may not secretly control the world.

Sorry this was from so long ago; I had similar thoughts, though, and wanted to find out how much of a "slow-motion Wizard" the OP was being. Here is what I found out:Which basically turns him into a slow-motion wizard, as far as prep goes, and leaves him without a 9th-level slot. That seems to me to be playing against the sorcerer's strengths and to the wizard's, which seems ... quixotic.
Probably some hobbies? I hear watercolors can be relaxing. Maybe go for some professional certifications, get their plumbers license or something.@nogray
I thought I remembered it as a few years. I didn't remember it being as many as four.
I hadn't worked out all the details, but I was thinking on the lines of Sim wishes for the terrain to be cleared of vegetation to a radius of 350 feet from a given point on the ground and Second Sim wishes for for a building (60 x 60 x 20 feet, with a basement if the DM allows it); wizard casts mirage arcane.
From that point, in two years, you can have 10 separate private sancta (so you can have all of it proofed against scrying and still have a portion you can teleport into); 9 are 20' cubes, the other is a 100' cube and catches the basement; all the sancta are contained inside the building, but not cast upon it, and should effectively have total cover from outside.
During those two years the wizard can make a distressingly large number of glyphs of warding (providing he has the materials). In his spare time he can keep casting mirage arcane every ten days, as well as upcasting major image to 6th level and casting it on the walls of the building, to hide where the windows are.
I have no idea what I would have a DMPC wizard making a home base do with the other two years.
I'm finishing the Lord of the Dragons Build. (Draco Sorcerer)It seems that we won't be see builds of other sorcerers... I liked the art!
