I shouldn't be, at this point, but I am actually taken aback by this display of sophistry.
"A creature is any player character or DM-controlled monsters and NPCs including (but not limited to) constructs, monstrous plants, and undead. If a spell or feature says it affects a creature, then it does not affect objects unless it specifically says so"

Clockwork Cavalcade doesn't summon creatures.
I'm sorry.

No matter what you say, before planning this I think about all these questions.
Just accept the painful death of the Bastion's blade cuts.

No, no, I followed it, just still stunned it's an actual argument made. I mean... wow. Bravo, sirrah*, this is grade A premium internet asshattery.

*Pun on bravo sierra fully intended.

"The spirits look like modrons or other constructs of your choice."

The spirits looks like Chardalyn Dragon. For still more epicness.

Can I try to top this world-class asshattery? Here's my attempt.

The Sentinel feat gives the following benefits with regard to movement:

PHB said:
Whenever you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, its speed drops to 0 for the rest of the turn.
Creatures wilhin 5 feel of you provoke opportunity atlacks from you even if they take the Disengage action before leaving your reach.

In order to provoke an opportunity attack, the PHB says that
same PHB said:
You can make an opportunity attack when a hostile creature that you can see moves out of your reach. To make an opportunity attack, you use your reaction to make one attack against the provoking creature.

So, using the principle of ineffable asshattery... The sentinel feat is useless, since the Wizard isn't hostile to the Sorcerer that just appeared after his invisibility was cancelled by his antimagic field. So he can move out of the sorcerer's reach freely, without provoking an attack of opportunity that only hostile creatures are causing. Therefore, since there is no risk of AoO, the speed is never reduced to 0, take a move action to exit the AMF and teleport away (that assassin was mean-looking).

I'm inclined to say the modron spirits aren't creatures, as the rules for them are vague about both what they really are and how many of them there are, and having an indeterminate number of stat-less creatures appearing for a turn is more problematic to the rules than just calling them an illusory effect with the appearance of creatures.

But if they aren't creatures then they are a magical effect, and hence a no-go in an antimagic field. Possibly the Clockwork Sorcerer would be able to activate the ability on the parts of the 30 foot cube around him outside of the ten foot radius (because it suppresses magical effects but does not explictily stop the activation of them), but the actual effects of the ability should not work within the antimagic field.

Generally I think the premise of Sorcerer class, as people whose abilities all come from innate magic, is betrayed by declaring any Sorcerer ability to not be a magical effect susceptable to antimagic field disruption.

The Clockwork Cavalcade is a class feature (Like rage, Inspiration, Extra attack) that isn't magical and It doesn't summon creatures.
I already proved it.
It's clear as water, only those who do not follow the rules will disagree.

Man, that was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Hahahhaa :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
A guy appears, laughing at you, with a dagger in his hand pointing at you, who orders your simulacrums to kill you, The assassin attacks you and you are not hostile.

Well, we have a totally peaceful Wizard. Ahahah

The best this guy tries is to run away. It is certainly the only thing a Wizard can do. To run away.
At this point in the threat, is everything we see from the Wizards cowardly? This is sad.

Yes, your method of reading rules leads to that amount of hilarity.

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is Foggy Bottom.

Yes, why fight when obviously the opponent has chosen the fighting ground? Fight on your own term, when you're prepared. Preparedness is the strength of the Wizard and it would be silly not to use it fully.
