D&D 5E 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

You clearly don't play at an actual table. Low-charisma characters can be quite survivable. There are a couple in the party of 14th-level PCs I'm DMing for, and the party of 5 8th-level characters doesn't have anyone with a charisma higher than 13. If the PCs aren't asshats, they survive just fi--I see your problem.

You are saying that such a monstrous race (Yuan-ti) with 9 cha will survive more than 3 seasons.

He will probably die at a social encounter very quickly.

Well, probably not on my world--Yuan-Ti aren't available as a PC race on Erkonin--but if I were to allow them, I wouldn't make them subject to a murder-hate-on from every NPC they met. I had a player I asked to tone down his character's murder-hate-on for a PC race for similar reasons (and he did, which worked out well when my race-randomizer started spitting that race at the party).

It's at least as easy to describe that feat as a wizard who's figured out how to do those things, you know. In roughly the same way it's easy to portray sorcerers as idiot savants.

These are perfectly acceptable. They however reflect a duel to the death that isn't the type of fight that could validate the OP's claim that he can defeat anything, because a draw (= the wizard escapes) doesn't favor the wizard's playstyle, where he could retreat and use his vast advantage at preparation to start the fight again, on his own term.

I also lament the loss of the certainty to be eaten by Yeenoghu (all hail Lord Yeenoghu).

If we were all sitting at a table in person I could do a zoomed out In Your Bases battle, but that's too much for remote....with communication difficulties.

Sorcery Points, means He is a Sorcerer , pure blood.
If I have Ki Points. Its effectively a monk.

I find it easier as a DM to allow players to define their own characters. If a player wanted their wizard to have been exposed to something that altered them slightly in the direction of being a sorcerer, that'd be fine; if a player wanted their wizard to have hacked magic a little, that also would be cool.

Also, on Erkonin, sorcerers aren't born. Something happens to you to make you a spellcaster in spite of not having studied it. It's a fluke thing, like being bitten by a radioactive spider.

At least you weren't desperate that you sold a piece of your soul, though.

If you have Sorcery Points, you are effectively a Sorcerer, you are pure blood, you use your sorcerer power to improve your spells and deserve its Power.
