Love the concept, especially the Fire Giant hook from the ECS. Only drawback to being Ogre would be the 4 racial HD and thus only being a 4th or 5th level Favored Soul, with access to 2nd level healing spells max.

Or, am I not fully understanding the racial hit dice and relation to LA -- would he be a 6th or 7th level Favored Soul?

Actually, it would be a 4th level ogre with +2 LA, meaning he could only be a 3rd level Favored Soul.

Well, Sanne's a Swashbuckler 6/Artificer 1/Windwright Captain 2. She's most definitely a dragonmarked scion, and pretty good at the acrobatic and social rogue stuff.

Even when they have giant bane rapiers*? And an airship full of crewmen (or crew half-elves, really) with missile weapons?

* Using personal weapon augmentation to temporarily create a bane weapon is a handy trick for melee artificers... and one reason she has Heroic Spirit is so she has action points to burn to cast an infusion quickly, and to burn on using Storm's Riposte for counterattacks.

The rapier's a good idea for covering your bases, but I'm not sure how much play a social rogue will get in a module that starts when we're already hired and off to go fight the giants in their lair.

I probably should have made this its own post instead of including it in the beginning of my submission, but do you allow the LA buyoff option from UA also found online at http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm (basically a 3,000 xp hit at third level to get rid of the Aasimar's LA +1)?
