3.5e Planescape - Cold Black Mask OOC Thread

Grrr, my video card finally asploded. Well, I guess I did get a good five-year run out of it. My new card should reach me in a couple of days; today's my weekend, so I'll try to head to my neighbor's house and borrow his computer to get a couple posts up.

So I just read over my character sheet again since I figured we might run into combat, and I realized I never picked my spells prepped. Fixing that now ;).

EDIT: And now that I look more closely, I think I was really absent-minded, because I don't think I ever picked a third domain from Ordained Champion or grabbed a feat for sacking its domain power (with Ordained Champion's first level benefit). Unless you remember something I don't, CR, I'll edit those in.

I'm feeling glad I caught all this before combat started o.0

Oh boy, Anthony's first action sequence. How the heck is this going to turn out. Not like a similar scene from Max Payne 2 I sincerely hope. I'm going to have to wait until I get home to post an action, sorry.

Well, I'm not Cage-Rattler, but it looks to me like you took the Good domain as your extra domain and immediately sacked it for Power Attack.

Right, I know I have War and I got Good somewhere, but I can't for the life of me figure out what my third domain should be. I think I was going to go for the Glory domain (ability's not that useful to me, since I'm using my turning attempts mostly to fuel other abilities, but the spell list is excellent).

Nac Mac Feegle: I'd support a decision to go with the "Glory" domain. It's a little heavy on the anti-undead stuff, but it seems to fit the character.

DireLemming: Hmm, never played Max Payne. Now I'm all curious.

Ambrus: How long did you want István to sit there and watch? Also:

So, did István catch sight of the imp's destination?
István's pretty certain that the imp was heading straight for the lone warehouse -- about 100 feet away from the gnome's perch on the rooftop.

I have to say, I think that was an awesome inaugural fight for István. Kudos to you and many thanks!
My pleasure! I have to admit, I was completely surprised when István launched his first massive attack against the raven. :D But it made for a fun a battle to write.[/sblock]

"If you think nothing can get to you, you're lying to yourself. At best, you're temporarily dead. A lightning bolt can reanimate you without a warning."

[sblock=Cage-Rattler]István was only going to wait two minutes; just long enough to take twenty on a Spot and Listen check like I'd stated. Hm. Since he knows about the warehouse, I think I'd like to have István quickly scout the place; perhaps skulk (taking 10 on Hide and Move Silently checks) around the outside perimeter while peeking through a window or two before heading back to the boarding house if that's alright. No better time to check the place out than at night in the dark while alone. ;)

Since it seems that nothing else was likely to happen, I may go ahead and post István's return to the boarding house if I don't hear back from you soon; just so that the group can move on. You can fill me in on the warehouse at your leisure (assuming sneaking around the outside won't get me killed). :heh:

I can't imagine why you were surprised by the sudden battle; at best it's a lone raven, at worst its a devilish spy. Why wouldn't István try to eliminate a lone spy from the Temple of the Lords of the Nine if he felt confident he could win? I don't know how it managed to find the group in a random Clerk's Ward location, but if it hasn't reported back to its masters yet, then they may in fact not have a clue where we are now and may never succeed in locating us again in the 50+ square miles of Sigilian cityscape. *crosses fingers* :heh:

I think the battle was very appropriate given István's particular abilities and the gypsy-esque background I envision for him; their folkloric heroes are often involved in the fighting and banishing of evil spirits (i.e. ghosts and demons).[/sblock]

So I was figuring I'd probably use the Ordained Champion class feature that lets me lose a domain granted power in favor of getting a fighter feat since I don't really need the turn-boosting, and apart from the granted power the Glory domain synergizes quite well with Heinrich, because it's full of the paladin smity and stabby spells (for one thing it lets him cast Bless Weapon and Holy Sword as cleric spells).

Posting spell list now, and picking a fighter feat.

Sounds fine. I should be getting my computer-fixy part delivered this evening*, so I'll hit you all with an update then.

*(Hopefully before work, but possible after; the deliveryman likes to drive around my house once or twice before he actually delivers to it. :p )
