3.5e Planescape - Cold Black Mask OOC Thread

Alright, good luck with that :).

I picked up Shield Specialization: Heavy Shield for my bonus feat (+1 to the bonus from my shield), and prepped my spells. I've got a few spells from the Spell Compendium in there, I realized I didn't know if you were allowing that. If not, I'll swap 'em out.

Ambrus: I'm going with the assumption that Heinrich was the only other character in the room that you approached with your body-bag, yes? Also: [sblock]Spying on the warehouse from afar doesn't reveal any activity, although a faint glow of light from under the main entrance suggests that someone is in residence. A closer, more thorough inspection reveals that the windows were tightly boarded shut. Flickers of lamplight glow through cracks between the boards as well, and Istvan could detect some sort of movement within. Without actually going in (or waiting for someone to come out), there was no way of knowing more.[/sblock]

DireLemming: We can say Anthony grabbed his Bag of Tricks as a precaution before he investigated the commotion -- but in the future, let me know how he equips himself if he comes across a similar situation. ;) I'll let you decide in what state of dress (or undress) he's in; it's not impossible to sleep in light armor.

Also, the result from the Bag of Tricks roll was "warthog", but I decided to add a distinct planar flavor to its arrival. Anthony knows fhorges are mean and short-tempered; if the one in the room doesn't receive instructions soon, it might decide to flip out and attack everyone in the room. Like a ninja.

István didn't expect anyone else to be up so yeah, Heinrich was the only person he intended to show the imp's carcass to until morning.

I actually meant to toss the fuzz ball to the other side of the door from where I was hiding, not through the door. :\ At least now I know there're at least three of them instead of the two I thought there were. Can Anthony tell anything about the voices? Male, female, do any of them sound distinctly like a certain race? Does he have any idea what the person that just walked out of the door is?

Sorry; guess I was envisioning a D&D version of "thrown-the-grenade-in-the-room-and follow-it-in". :uhoh: Let me know if you'd like me to re-write that last post, or whether you'll just roll with it.

Ugh. I had all that written down in my notepad, but for some reason I left it out of the post. The voices (except for Dinah's, natch) all came from male speakers and seemed to be human (or human-ish), with definite hiver accents. Anthony recognized the one fellow as a Shadowswyft; a form of planetouched with ancestral roots from the Plane of Shadow. They're fairly new to Sigil but said to be extremely quick of reflexes, somewhat frail, and they can see extremely well in pitch-darkness. (Knowledge: Sigil = 16)

The shadowswyft is only partway out of the door, but you're fairly certain he is currently unarmed. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine him as having some sort of dagger or shiv hidden somewhere on his person, though.

OOC: Alas, planetouched creatures are Native Outsiders, and thus require Charm Monster.
Didn't get a chance to jump in beforehand but if I recall correctly, Native Outsiders (such as planetouched) are different from "aligned" outsiders such as devils (Evil Outsiders), devas (Good Outsiders), mephits (Elemental Outsiders), and so on.

Native Outsiders such as planetouched are, for mechanical purposes, Extraplanar Humanoids and still subject to spells that affect Humanoids (Charm Person, Raise Dead, etc.) I'm almost positive I read an official WoTC stance on this (possibly somewhere on the website), but if I didn't, we'll house rule it this way.

What it all boils down to is, DireLemming, your Charm Person spell would affect the Shadowswyft. I think your DC should be higher than stated in the IC thread though, no? (DC = 10 + 1 for spell level + 3 for intelligence bonus + 1 for cloaked casting = DC 15.)

I will re-arrange some Outsider classifications (Rakshasas, for example, are classified as Native Outsiders, which I think is weird; I'd call them Evil Outsiders), but it shouldn't affect anyone here.
