Since it seems we're in initiative now, and Sindr rolled low, he's going to go ahead and cast nerveskitter to add +5 to his initiative. So, he acts on a 12. Casting nerveskitter basically isn't an action - it's done when initiative is rolled.

He'll stay in the room until the others move out, then follow them downstairs. His intent is to act as surprise artillery (Knock Knock! Who's there? LANDSHARK!), so he'll stay invisible until he can either turn the tide of the battle or protect Hagen from being hurt (Heinrich and Pierce are both quite capable of handling themselves in a brawl ;)). The two best spells he has in that regard are glitterdust (area of effect blindness) and Sindr's charged bolt of the three thunders (damage + stun + trip, but dazes Sindr).

The maps are indeed good. You didn't make any mention however of István's rooftop reconnaissance so I don't yet know where the enemies might be lurking (Listen +6, Spot +11). I don't know if he could have done it before initiative was rolled or not, but at his speed, István could easily survey all sides of the building in one round by starting at J3-7 and moving to H3-7 to H2-7 to E2-7 to E2-5 to H2-1 to A2-1 and finally to A2-4. If not, then that's what he'll do on his first turn, all while using the cover provided by the roof's eaves to remain hidden from people down on the ground (Hide +23, Move Silently +17, -5 penalty for moving at less than full speed, taking 10 on both skill checks). If he doesn't spot anyone skulking around outside, then on the following round he'll move down to the ground to scout out the entryway for enemies.

Sorry for forgetting about your earlier actions, Ambrus; I combined your previous and current actions in the most recent post.

At this point, István is the only one with line of sight to the intruders. Those you by the stairway will be able to see the whole lot by moving up to row 5.

NacMacFeegle, hopefully you'll bear with me for now and go with the initiative I pre-rolled for you. I should of asked whether everyone wanted to roll intiative themselves or have me do it; sorry! :heh: I'll leave it up to the players in the next encounter. The good news is I rolled universally abysmally.

To move combat along, I'm going to ask for everyone to post their actions within a 24-hour span from my posts. If that's not possible for whatever reason, I'll NPC your actions for that round, doing my best to stay true to the character. If you want to leave a note in the Rogue's Gallery specifying how you'd like to be "auto-piloted", that'd be swell. :D

Actually, I prefer GMs rolling in general, it's way quicker :). I'll post my actions (with a bit of leeway depending on what happens in the interim) in the IC thread. Do you prefer us to roll our own attacks and such, or you do it? I'm fine either way.

I actually prefer the GM to roll for just the same reasons, though I know it can be a pain so if you want me to do it I will.

I'll try to get an IC post up as soon as I get home.

Oh yes, with PbP it's much, much easier to have the DM do the rolling. Please do!

Pierce generally will stay in front of her current employer (or weakest party members, if this plays out to more friendship than bodyguarding), using Improved Shield Bash, Power Attack if she thinks she can hit, and her own body spikes. If the thing she's attacking looks particularly hazardous to touch (like a fire elemental or flesh-devouring ooze) she'll use her flail instead.

As was clear in István's first battle I'm fine with having the DM make all the rolls, though I do like seeing the various die roll results in the DM's posts whenever possible. In short, what you've been doing is great.

Sorry if you guys have been waiting for my post. I just arrived at my parents' place following an 19 hour train ride. I don't anticipate having any problems posting normally however. I'll go post in the IC thread right away. :)
