D&D (2024) 3 Months in - Weapon Mastery

I was going to take that feat as a Monk. Then realized you only get 1 mastery.
yeah, you should get that feat, plus a (full) feat for fighting style to get one extra attack(Fighting initiate from Tasha's) with Nick in your Attack action.
So not worth it.
Fighting style feat is overpriced in Tasha's, it should be half feat at best and same goes for Mastery feat.

Maybe:
Martial training:
+1 ASI
gain 1 fighting style,
gain 1 weapon mastery,

Would probably take that feat as a Monk tbh

that is the point, great feat for monk/rogue, very good for barbarian and casters that want to fight a little and still good feat for martials that want a good backup option.

btw, did we get clarification of GWF style?
does it affect damage dice or just base weapon dice like in 2014?

Idk.

The players that resolved combat quickly are still doing so, the ones that were slow before (on a side note, I'm really beginning to hate when people use the digital dice on DDB) are still slow. It adds a bit of flavor, so far it's been fine.

I am not a huge fan. It makes combat longer on our table. I am playing with it in most of my games though (both DM and PC).

Although it slows down the game that is not my biggest problem with it. My biggest issue is that all classes don't have some form of it.

The classes that don't get it automatically have significant other toys and advantages.

And if they really want, they can access weapon masteries by giving up a bit of resource (take a feat), which is nowhere near as painful as it used to be since you also get a stat bump (and dexterity fits most classes, even casters). Granted, that's not at 1-3rd level, but again the ones that don't get it have significant other benefits instead.

Why? How does using DDB beyond digital dice slow things down? If playing in person, I wouldn't allow it because we agree that everyone rolls physical dice out in the open. But, if anything, I would think rolling on DDB would speed things up.
