This book is published under the OGL 1.0a. I know, because it's already being printed. And the print order pre-dates any intended changes WotC wants to make. So I'm licensed under OGL 1.0a.

My NEXT book would have to be licensed under OGL 1.1a. Though I think I'll kill backward compatability, going forward, and just do A5e

I am a little bit confused about how that works. I know that A5e has its own OGL and SRD, but my understanding was that A5e itself depends on WotC's OGL, so wouldn't that still affect you?

Honestly... I don't know how it'll work. I don't know how EN Publishing will deal with it, or even -can- deal with it.

But I won't put out material advertised for 5e compatibility. It's going to be A5e from now on. WotC pushed too hard, here, and I refuse to give them my support or my money going forward.

Has the OGL 1.1 been officially released? The recent "leak" was clearly not the real thing.

It is getting some substantiation as being related to a mid-december draft of it over at Gizmodo with a leak to io9 ( Dungeons & Dragons’ New License Tightens Its Grip on Competition ) and the head of gaming at Kickstarter essentially confirming the royalties part on twitter.

i still don't think they have the legal right to do that, considering nothing in 1.0(a) specifies what it means for an OGL version to be authorized, let alone how to unauthorize such a thing.

I really hope we get an answer sooner rather than later. Should I even continue to work on my next book at this point?
