4e Battle of Good vs. Evil: Ice Archon & Co. vs. Eye Of Flame & Co.

OOC: Lamont is bloodied.

Good Guys:
Gertruda (grick alpha, leader, SW): 2/116hp, bloodied, Fort 20
Peter (spectral panther): 8/46, bloodied

Round 65: (Kip & TL reset SW) (Gertruda resets SW & AP and J'klict resets SW on round 67)

Gertuda attacks Lamont. 15+13+2+2, hit. Lamont takes 12/2 =6, is grabbed and bleeding. Getruda makes her save vs. shadow drain (15-5).

Peter shadow pounces Lamont. 17+14+2+2, hit. 20/2 = 10 damage.

OOC: Second wind gives you half your bloodied hit points, right? If so, I've had Kip's hit points wrong, so I corrected it down to 5hp, or 1/4.

Bad Guys:
Ton Loc (young black dragon, leader, AP, SW): 280/280hp, full
Kip (kobold archer, SW): 5/23hp, bloodied
J'klict (drow wand mage, AP, SW): 32/45hp, injured
Lamont Cranston (shadow demon, SW): 14/72hp, bloodied, bleeding

Ton Loc fails to recharge the cloud (1). He bites Gertruda, 15+10+2 vs. AC, hits for 6 damage (ignored) and ongoing 5 acid.

The cloud of darkness disappears.

Kip fires an arrow at Peter, 1+9 misses.

J'klict recharges the icy ray (4). He moves to 95n50e and shoots an icy ray at Gertruda, 20+13 vs. Ref, crit? If so that's 29 cold damage and Gertruda is slowed one round, which she may or may not realize as she falls unconcious.

Lamont claws at Peter, 11+13 vs. Ref, 11 damage and shadow drain (ongoing necrotic 5, save ends, yada yada). Peter is teleported out. Lamont saves vs. bleeding (11) and is presumably no longer held.

Bring on the new good guys! :D

Good Guys:
Corrinna (halfling paladin, SW, AP): 62/62hp, full
Dustin (hook horror, leader, SW, AP): 150/150hp, full
Gertruda (grick alpha, SW): -32/116hp, dying (1), Fort 20, slow
Wile (wyvern, SW, AP): 105/105hp, full

Round 66: (Gertruda resets SW & AP and J'klict resets SW on round 67)

Corrinna the halfling paladin (the 7th level NPC, not the 1st level PC) appears at 50N70E and tries a vindicating blow on Lamont. 9+14, miss.

Dustin Hoffman the large hook horror and new leader appears at 50N45E and attacks TL. 8+21, hit. TL takes 17 damage, plus followup, 3+19 vs. Fort, TL is grabbed and pulled to 60N50E.

Gertuda Getruda makes her save vs. acid (12), but starts dying (2).

Wile E. wyvern, appears at 70N45E (large). He attacks TL with his tail sting. 3+19+2, barely hit. TL takes 14 and followup, 7+17 vs. Fort, 15 ongoing poison damage (save ends).

OOC: Since TL's SW reset, I assume other encounter abilities, too, like frightful presence.

OOC: Why is a 4th-level creature in a fight with 13th-level creatures? TL has no chance to hit these guys. :p

Bad Guys:
Ton Loc (young black dragon, leader, AP, SW): 234/280hp, injured, grabbed
Kip (kobold archer, SW): 5/23hp, bloodied
J'klict (drow wand mage, AP): 43/45hp, injured, +2 to defenses
Lamont Cranston (shadow demon): 27/72hp, bloodied, bleeding, +2 to defenses

Ton Loc recharges the cloud (3). As a move action, he tries to escape the grab, 13+7 fails. He tries a frightful presence:
Wile: 10+5 vs. Will fails
Dustin: 17+5 vs. Will fails
Gertruda: 9+5+2 vs. Will fails
Corinna: 12+5 vs. Will fails
He makes the save vs. poison (6+5).

Kip fires an arrow at Corinna, 14+9 misses.

J'klict fails to recharge the icy ray (2). He takes a second wind.

Lamont takes a second wind, and saves vs. the bleeding (18). Lamont considers his teleporting abilities and realizes he has no idea what useful purpose they serve.

OOC: Lamont made his save vs. bleeding last round and should have 32 hp.

Good Guys:
Corrinna (halfling paladin, SW, AP): 62/62hp, full
Dustin (hook horror, leader, SW, AP): 150/150hp, full
Gertruda (grick alpha, SW, AP): -32/116hp, dying (2), Fort 20
Wile (wyvern, SW, AP): 105/105hp, full

Round 67: (Gertruda resets SW & AP. J'klict resets SW) (Lamont resets SW on round 69)

Corrinna does not recharge (3). She shifts to 55N75E and swings at Lamont. 12+14, miss due to SW.

Dustin feasts on TL. 9+21, hit. TL takes 30 damage.

Gertuda dies some more (6).

Wile attacks TL with his tail sting. 4+19+2, hit. TL takes 8 and followup, 15+17 vs. Fort, 15 ongoing poison damage (save ends).

Bad Guys:
Kip (kobold archer, SW): 5/23hp, bloodied
J'klict (drow wand mage, AP, SW): 43/45hp, injured
Ton Loc (young black dragon, leader, AP, SW): 181/280hp, injured, grabbed
Lamont Cranston (shadow demon): 32/72hp, bloodied

Ton Loc waits for the drow to act. "Shoot one of these guys before I turn out the lights."

Kip fires an arrow at Corinna, 18+9 hits for 7 damage.

J'klict fails to recharge the icy ray (1). He fires a wand blast at Wile, 19+13 vs Reflex, hits for max 16 damage. He moves to 95n75e.

Ton Loc brings up the cloud of darkness and then tries to escape the grab, 12+7+2. I can't recall the rules here, what does he need to beat to escape? He saves vs. the poison (8+5).

Lamont attacks the paladin, 19+13 vs. Reflex, hits for 9 damage and ongoing 5 necrotic, yada yada.

OOC: To escape a grapple, use (Athletics or Str) vs. Fort or (Acrobatics or Dex) vs. Ref. TL does not beat Dustin's 24 Ref.

Good Guys:
Corrinna (halfling paladin, SW, AP): 41/62hp, injured
Dustin (hook horror, leader, SW): 150/150hp, full
Gertruda (grick alpha): 43/116hp, bloodied, Fort 20, +2 defenses
Wile (wyvern, SW, AP): 89/105hp, injured

Round 68: (Lamont resets SW on round 69)

Corrinna recharges (6). She tries vindicating blow on Lamont. 17+14, hit. Lamont takes 14/2 = 7, but Corrinna heals Gertruda 14, bringing her back from near death to 14 hp. Corrinna shifts back to 50N70E. She saves vs. shadow drain (18-5).

Dustin tries to fling TL. 12+21-5, does it. TL takes 21 damage and lands prone at 60N30E, outside the darkness. Dustin moves to 45N30E and uses an AP to attack again. 6+21+2, hit. TL takes 15 more. Followup 17+21+2 vs. Fort, TL is dragged to 55N30E and is grabbed. Grabbed creatures can still stand up if they want to (triggering OA's).

Gertuda takes a second wind, then stands up, triggering an OA from Lamont. She uses her AP to attack, 15+13+2+2, hit. Lamont takes 11/2 = 5 damage, is grabbed and bleeding.

Wile flies around to 50N75E and stings Lamont. 10+19+2+2, hit. Lamont takes max 17/2 = 8 and followup, 3+17+2+2 vs. Fort, 15 ongoing poison damage (save ends).

OOC: I like those rules. Use whatever one is best for you and that directly correlates with a similar stat for your opponent, rather than a static "offense" value for the opponent.

OOC: Shouldn't Gertruda only get 7hp, because that's the damage dealt?

Lamont's OA: 7+13+2 vs. Gertruda's AC+2 misses.

Bad Guys:
Kip (kobold archer, SW): 5/23hp, bloodied
J'klict (drow wand mage, SW): 43/45hp, injured
Ton Loc (young black dragon, leader, AP, SW): 145+-?/280hp, injured/bloodied, grabbed

Kip fires an arrow at Wile, natural 20+9 hit for 8 damage. Kip moves to 10n115e and looks scared spitless, moreso 'cause he just hit a big honkin' wyvern.

J'klict fails to recharge (2). He wand blasts Gertruda, 17+13 vs. Ref+2 hit for max 16 damage. He uses his action point to fire again, 13+13 vs. Ref+2 hit for another 14 damage.

Ton Loc recharges the cloud (6). He doesn't bother sustaining the cloud which is far away. He breathes on Dustin, 13+7 vs. Ref., fails. He stands up, provoking an OA, which if it hits and deals 5+ damage, causes an immediate recharge of the breath weapon and another breath weapon. That would be a 5+7 which also misses. Ton Loc would then (if bloodied) uses his AP to take a second wind, adding +70 hit points and giving him +2 on defenses.

Lamont dies and is teleported out.

OOC: I'll take away 7 hp from Gertruda due to the modified healing. You cannot take immediate actions on your turn, only someone else's, so TL breathed one time.

Dustin's OA is 19+21, hit for 12 damage. TL has 203 hp after taking a SW.

Good Guys:
Corrinna (halfling paladin, SW, AP): 41/62hp, injured
Dustin (hook horror, leader, SW): 150/150hp, full
Gertruda (grick alpha): 6/116hp, bloodied, Fort 20
Wile (wyvern, SW, AP): 81/105hp, injured

Round 69:

Corrinna recharges (5). She would love to spread some serious cheese by whacking an unconscious opponent for max healing, but alas, there are none available. She moves and then charges Kip, the next best thing, ending up at 25N105E. 6+14+1, hit with her basic longsword attack. 9 damage.

Dustin feasts on his new chew toy, 19+21, hit. 24 damage.

Gertuda loops to 65N35E and attacks TL, 17+13+2+2, hit. TL takes 11 damage and is grabbed and bleeding.

Wile flies to 85N75E and stings J'klict, staying off the ground. If he gets teleported, he can move one more square since he has Mobile Melee Attack. Otherwise he will hover where he is. 2+19, miss.

Corinna is at 15n110e due to Kip's last move.

I assume combat teleport is an interruptive reaction, and thus J'klict would not know if the melee attack would succeed, so he would try to teleport. 17+13 vs. Will, so Wile is teleported south 2 and then he continues flying 1, ending up at 75n75e.

Bad Guys:
Kip (kobold archer, SW): -4/23hp, dying (0)
J'klict (drow wand mage, SW): 43/45hp, injured
Ton Loc (young black dragon, leader): 163/280hp, injured, grabbed

Kip holds steady (10).

J'klict recharges everything (6). He wand blasts Gertruda, 15+13 vs. Ref hit for 10 damage, enough to finally take out the annoyingly resistant Grick (and personally I find that resist weapon is way too powerful, so hopefully it's only on monsters and never available to PCs). If Wile resumes the attack, J'klict will teleport him again, another 17+13 vs. Will. J'klict wonders if he can put Wile at 100n75e-5z? If not, then merely as far away as possible.

Ton Loc fails to recharge his breath (1). He is no longer bleeding (9+5). He starts up the cloud of darkness and tries to escape the grapple, 11+7+2 fails.
