[4e] Border Epic: Aftermath of the Celestial War (Dead.)

Evilhalfling

Adventurer
Lets see what it takes to begin an epic destiny.

One year after the Celestial War, involving the death of two gods, you gather.

Starting at mid 20th level. A short campaign that will have some encounters at level 21.
I have Adventures Vault, Martial Power and Core 3.
Please post a name, race and class + pp
What epic destiny are you reaching for?
What are you known for? Where do you live, what responsibilities / position do you have?
A background/personality sketch, would be good to.
One of the dead gods will Bahamut, the other is Lolth

Once we settle on a god, we can brainstorm the effects of this loss.

Dunn Halfaxe, human Fighter/Dreadnought, - Nac Mac Feegle (undying warrior)
Elithiel the Luminous, Elf Cleric/Radiant Servant - Annalist (demigod)
Morgrim Dwarf Fighter/Avalanche hurler; --- EvolutionKB (eternal defender)
Aridha the White Tiger, beastmaster ranger -- Shayuri (beastlord )
Kazin Gregari, tiefling warlord, Infernal Strategist -- ziegander (legendary general)
Kanriel Starlight, Elderin wizard, Spiral tower -- Charwoman Gene (archmage)

If we have more than six some will be alternates, as most PbP campaigns lose 1-2 players if they go any length of time. I plan on posting 2-3 times a week, more slowly if only 4/6 people post in response, faster if everyone posts.

Dunn Halfaxe, human Fighter/Dreadnought, looking towards Undying Warrior.

When the Celestial War began, Dunn was a blacksmith. A year ago, when it ended, he returned home, a grizzled warrior, tired to the bones and sick of war. He believed that perhaps he could finally set aside weapons and armor, and once again live in peace. He was wrong.

I'd be very interested in submitting a character for consideration in your game.

Basic Concept:

Elithiel the Luminous
Elf Male Cleric/Radiant Servant 20
Good Alignment (Pelor)

Due to the casualties inflicted in the Celestial War, there now exists an immense power vacuum in the heavens. The need is even greater for demigods to ascend to fill the void before the forces of evil start to take advantage of the situation. (My PC is working towards the Demigod epic destiny.)

Position: Preceptor of the Church of Pelor
Responsibility: Holy Inquisitor (hunt down demons and undead, root out heretical cults)

- If this basic concept meets with your approval, I can definitely flesh him out with more detail.

I'll throw my hat in.

Morgrim Dwarf Fighter/Avalanche hurler

As a child he was always picked on, until he hit a large growth spurt. Now tougher and stronger than those who picked on him, he defended those others that were like how he used to be, smaller and more vulnurable. Under his instruction, the small folk helped turn a tide in decisive battles. They of course said they wouldn't have stood a chance without Morgrim standing, keeping the foes busy. After a long campaign, with the invaders turned away, the small folk did something previously unknown. They made Morgrim in charge of their defenses, as well as head bodyguard of the king.

Morgrim lives in the Feywild, head bodyguard to the gnomish king, and General to the gnomish armies who still see the fomorians as a threat. He knows he can not live forever to keep the gnomes safe, so he is shooting for the eternal defender epic destiny.

I think I'd be interested in joining up as a Tiefling Warlord, though I don't think I'll be posting much in the next 5-7 days (Thanksgiving and all). If that's a problem, I understand.

But, for the sake of getting my post in here, Kazin Gregari, Resourceful Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 20 heading for the Legendary General Epic Destiny.

Kazin has always been a shrewd and calculating tactician, as well as a deceptively eloquent and charming persona. He has lead armies of allied humans and tieflings against the forces of darkness, some of which his own kind conspire with to this day, for many years in the hope that he can undo the demons of his past. However, Kazin is haunted by a pact his family made before he was born, and his keen mind has only kept him a step away from hellish consequences.

Controller or striker seem open...

Eladrin Wizard of Spiral Tower maybe going archmage...

Cold, calculating... almost alien to human sensibilities (no not a Vulcan!)
------------------
Changed a little..

Kanriel Starlight
Eladrin, abandoned at birth was raised on the frionges of soiety, surrounded by people he felt were unworthy of him. A old wizard took in the young eladrin upon sensing his potential. He also was unworthy of Starlight. For well over a century, Kanriel has not found anyone he considers worthy of his presence. He has thrown himself into the study and application of magic and has little patience for the doings of others.

He is cold and calculating and disturbingly pragmatic.

Well we won't be starting IC until after thanksgiving (ie monday) but I would like to have the party chosen by then. If you can have a character ready to go, and don't mind missing some of the pre-game discussion. It should be fine.

Taking a closer look at the gods, I'm leaning towards Bahamut being one of the dead. Taking the good, metallic dragons with him in his fall.

Does that mean Tiamat has to be the other to fall? Or can some other evil god have taken the hit? Lolth as the mastermind of his downfall?, or did he spend himself first destroying some great evil such as Troog, Grumesh or even Thazadum?

I'd like to see Tiamat stay in the game. Taking all dragons out of D&D seems wrong. Plus with draconomicon, perhaps we can go on a dragon slaying mission. I like Lolth being gone. The drow thrown into chaos(more than normal), gives them an excuse to try desperate things on the surface.

Planned feats:

two weapon defense(bonus), two-bladed warrior, dwarven weapon training, two weapon fighting, durable, thunder hammer, grit, enduring wallop, hammer rhythmn, armor spec(chainmail), agile tempest, marked scourge

Str: 21
Con: 20

Wis: 18
