Ok since you asked so niceley. Bio Desiel will be free in 2009 but by then we'll have revoked all your laminated drivers licesnses and you'll have to buy our new $100,000 digital cyber chip to get on the freeway.

Phew I am glad that is off my chest.

The problem is I really don't want to have to sell all my D&D books everytime a new edition comes out in order to make up for my loss.

My AD&D2 books are in the closet still, serving as structural support.

In the event that there *is* a new edition, there will likely not be a glut of material all at once, either. It'll come out every month or every other month, one or two at a time. You know, like how it came out when 3e did, or how it does now.

Here's the latest rumor of an impending 4th edition by Bill Clark over at the Necromancer boards-
I think it is sad that a paranoid faction of the EN community (and I say this as a member, but it really is mostly just people here at EN who keep giving momentum to this nonsense) has dragged the normally sensible and canny Bill Clark into their grand conspiracy theory.

If there were any 3rd-party publisher that would have inside info, it would be Mr. Clark's partners at Paizo. And, as others have pointed out, they are rolling forward with support for the current edition.

As Ryan Dancey observed, when 3E was announced, there was celebration. 4E, by contrast, has everyone terrified. WotC corporate may make some inexplicable choices, but are they really that stupid?

Yes... not to mention greedy. But then what corporation isn't?

I don't know if an imaginary person can be sensible and canny. There's two primary guys at Necro, Bill and Clark, and they are different people. There is no Bill Clark.
