Rules Question:

I want to use the 'Arcane Reserves' feat from Arcane Power. It gives extra damage for at-wills after spending the encounter powers. I read it as the class attack powers, not race (Dragonbreath) or utility (Ethereal Stride). Correct?

Hmm...I could see Grandfather being a prisoner of such an empire. He's a bit "young" in this life to get into so much trouble, but then again if he knew they were up to something, or if provoked...yeah.

So that'll work.

I think my avenger/ranger will be a prisoner . . . more fun that way.

I have character builder so building him won't be a problem, except that if I go hybrid that material won't be there till next month . I thought I would build him as normal (without the builder) then put him together when the builder gets updated, if that's okay.

I have no problem with the tabletop . . . I'll download it and get familiar with it when we get closer to start.

What is this 'hybrid' thing again, and how does it work?

Hybrid is a multiclass option that is being offered in PHB III next year, in which a character gets small bits of two classes, thereby being able to act as both in a limited sense. It's a lot like the gestalt rules in unearthed arcana, but half as good in that you're only getting 1/2 the class of each one . . . hence, a hybrid.

It's available on D&D Insider and has seen a fair bit of discussion. At the moment it's a bit weaker than a full class (with one or two exceptions), but there are good roleplaying reasons for it, then it makes sense.

In my face to face game we have someone that based on background was a cleric and a warlock, with two different forces vying for his attentions. He was a cleric multiclasses to warlock, but the hybrid makes a lot more sense in that it is equal proportions.

Mrs Ragedaughter will be on the Gith Ship. After one too many 'helpful' suggestions, she was confined to the kitchen during fights. This isn't sitting well with her, and perhaps its time for a change of vessel/management.

I have decided to forgo virtual battlemat. I am going to be running this very freewheeling, and since I have no maps to import, we're better off with me doing grid maps in a spreadsheet.
