Team Lake

Muragh the Usurper looked from Aywin to Loklafd's glowing sword - metallurgy itself was beyond his people's usual capabilities, and what metal he possessed had been traded, found, or stollen. Though his own Trident glowed magically as well, it had been a prize, and he did not understand its magic any more than he understood its metal. He wasn't terribly smart, but he recognized that Bjorn was not a true frog, but a shapeshifter, and that meant primal magic of unknown capability. And Darius was a mystery, and Muragh didn't like not knowing.

The brazen confidence that the group showed by barging forward worried him. Ultimately, Muragh was a bully, and like most bullies, he did not expect to be stood up to. In addition, his loyalty to the Cultists, with whom he had a nominal alliance, was non-existent. He'd already gotten most of what he expected to get out of it. Further, he felt that something was happening under Blackpeak - the tremors and such - that made staying in the Pit of Teeth less desirable than it had once been.

Lastly, he felt little love for his "people", many of whom didn't like his leadership and were causing him no end of headaches. With this in his mind, he grunted at Aywin and said, "Ffine. Ay whill leafve."

He called to the two guards at the tunnel entrance, while the groups of lizardfolk in the north erupted into incredulous chatter, and he dove into the pool, with his "bodyguards" following. Somewhere deep below, there were watery tunnels that exited the mountain, and he did not return.

OOC: That was unexpected, but my wife rolled some interesting checks for both the PCs Insight (why I gave you so much 'insider' information), Intimidation, and then poorly for Muragh's bravery. I often like to let the dice decide what happens.

Team Lake - Aywin

OOC: Horray, charisma wins! And Aywin didn't need to try seducing the lizardfolk ;-)

Aywin remains serene and respectfully quiet as the usurper leaves. After he is relatively comfortable that he is gone, he turns to Guldred with a smile "It seems you now have the blessing and the curse of your clan's leadership my friend. I am certain you have much on your plate now, but we would very much appreciate being guided to the cultists"

TEAM LAKE - SHADE-9 - Pit of Teeth
[
Mission Resolution: [Subject:Muragh] - Observed tension collapse - no hostile reaction. Subaqueous egress probability 73%: SE bearing.]

Shade-9 turned to see the water breaking for a mere moment as Muragh submerged, leaving only ripples to mark his exit. Even though the warforged had watched the scene unfold in front of him but moments before, he played the record back again in his memory (and not for the last time), seeking to understand exactly how the circumstance had played out as it had. Aywins serene and unflinching stance, Muragh resigned grunt and the incredulous chatter of the lizardfolk in the water as the former chieftain dove into the water and disappeared.
[Analysis: [Subject:Aywin] deployed non-aggressive authority pattern. Vocal tone stable, rhythm predictive, no deviation. [Subject:Muragh] response unexpected.
Flag for future modeling: “AYWIN PROTOCOL" — passive dominance simulation]

Satisfied that Muragh would not return, Shade-9 stepped forward to join the team, as the hero of the moment addressed Guldred, asking for a guide.
"Mission parameters have been achieved as agreed" the warforged acknowledged looking towards Guldred "You have been escorted back to the Pit of Teeth and Muragh has been removed.

But do we have concensus of all your kin?
" Shade-9 turned his gaze north to see how the rest of Guldreds kind reacted to the changes they had brought "assessment of hostility risk pending response"

Merrick hopes the enchantress would lose control of her spell as he had managed to scratch his glaive across her face.

Team Infiltrate

Stryke grabbed Copper by the elbow and they moved, just a few scant paces further south-west. The cultist came to Copper's sight (a little forward from where he'd imagined) when Terrin's Dancing Lights bobbed across the lake's surface and bunched together along the ledge.

In the cave-entrance higher up and around the corner, Terrin healed Lorent, who fired an eldritch bolt before retreating into the cave-mouth. The bolt struck the cultist's shoulder, and nearly spun him around and off of the ledge, but the elf threw himself onto the ground and held onto the rocks.

He crawled forward and sent fire toward Copper and Stryke, but the two had been on-the-move and the fire burst on the wall where they had been before quickly burning out on the damp stone. The cultist, at the edge of the dancing lights, lay belly-down to make himself a small target against returning fire.

OOC: Thanks for waiting. Guy is a lunatic, still fighting, so I guess I'll post a round-roller.

Team Caves

Merrick and Torhak's movement became sluggish from the Wizard Valendra's spell. As Shamal moved to join the fray in the downward-sloping tunnel, Torhak slowly stomped out the dropped and waning torch, plunging the area into darkness. Of all gathered, only Torhak and Urgan could see.

Merrick charged slowly, lunging his polearm between Torhak (who slowly ducked) and Valendra. He missed, but as he began to pull it back, Urgan tackled her, moving through all of her illusory duplicates. She stumbled into the polearm, which scratched her leg, before Urgan threw her over his shoulder and carried her northward.

Shamal was in some sort of murderous haze, and he slashed his swords in the dark, seemingly uncaring of who he might harm, which was, perhaps luckily, no one at all. When Urgan's illusion of Valendra's voice called out to the Mercenary to flee, the man's only answer was a timid and frantic, "Which way do I go?"
