oops, yes and changed.

Come to think of it, isn't the Noble Genie ability called Wishes not Wish Granting.

Will add the following in the next Efreeti Firelord Working Draft update:

Wishes. The efreeti firelord can grant wishes to a creature that isn't a genie. Once the genie has granted its limit of three wishes, it can't grant wishes again for 1 year), and cosmic law dictates that the same genie can expend its limit of wishes on a specific creature only once in that creature's existence.
To be granted a wish, a creature within 60 feet of the efreeti firelord states a desired effect to it. The genie can then cast the wish spell on the creature's behalf to bring about the effect. An efreeti firelord will try to pervert the intent of a wish by exploiting the wish's poor wording. The perversion of the wording is usually crafted to be to the genie's benefit.
Am also thinking of giving our guy the following:

Body of Smokeless Flame. A creature that touches the efreeti firelord or hits it with a melee attack while within # feet of it takes # (#d#) fire damage. In addition, whenever a creature or object ends its turn within # feet of the firelord, that target takes # (#d#) fire damage and ignites. A burning target takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. A creature can use an action to douse the fire, ending the effect.

Lord of Fire. The efreeti firelord has perfect control over the heat of its flames. Its attacks will not do fire damage to any creature or object the genie does not wish to burn. This also allows the efreeti firelord to wear or handle flammable items such as parchment scrolls and silken robes without igniting them with Body of Smokeless Flame.
That might do for the Special Traits although I did pencil in Illumination just for giggles.

Iit's not strictly necessary, but I was thinking maybe:

Illumination. The efreeti firelord sheds bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light in an additional 60 feet. It can consciously reduce its illumination by any amount as a free action, down to a radius of 0 ft. Reducing its illumination does not affect the damage of the firelord's Body of Smokeless Flame.
Comments?

All these look good and will adopt. Just busy right now so pondering damage of Body of Smokeless Flame (what sort of damage were you thinking here?)

A 3E Efreeti has something equivalent, its Heat ability, that does 1d6 fire damage.

Was thinking of keeping the base damage of its fire body relatively modest since it'll have its actions to inflict the big ouches. Maybe 2d8 fire so it's less intense than its Fiery Falchion but a bit better than the 2d6 of a Salamander's Heated Body or 1d10 of a Fire Elemental's Fire Form?

It could have an action that stokes its body flames so they do more damage that round.

That will hopefully make the DPR and action economy more manageable.

Was thinking that option might also allow its fire damage to ignore or reduce fire resistance/immunity, but that's something to discuss later.

Let's stick in 2d8 for now, we can always change it later.

Come to think of it, will we be using 5 ft. for the range like a Salamander or make it 10 ft. because this firelord's a big lad?

Did a bit of tweaking to get the following:

Body of Smokeless Flame #2. A creature that touches the efreeti firelord or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 or 10 feet of it takes 9 (2d8) fire damage. In addition, whenever a creature or object ends its turn within 5 or 10 feet of the firelord, that target takes 9 (2d8) fire damage and ignites. A burning target takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns. A creature can use an action to douse the fire, ending the effect.
EDIT: a Balor Demon is also Huge and its Fire Aura also has a 5 foot effect so I'm OK leaving it at 5 feet and it does make Reach weapons useful for the firelord's Medium sized opponents.

Fire Aura. At the start of each of the balor's turns, each creature within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage, and flammable objects in the aura that aren't being worn or carried ignite. A creature that touches the balor or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage.
Hmm…

Actually, perhaps we should use some of that ability's wording for the Firelord…

Body of Smokeless Flame #3. At the start of each of the efreeti firelord's turns, each creature within 5 feet of it takes 9 (2d8) fire damage, and flammable objects within that distance that aren't being worn or carried ignite. A creature or flammable object that touches the firelord or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 9 (2d8) fire damage and catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns.
I like the "catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns" wording over the previous "" as it's clunkier, so I'll revise #2 to:

Body of Smokeless Flame #2a. A creature or flammable object that touches the efreeti firelord or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 9 (2d8) fire damage. In addition, whenever a creature or flammable object ends its turn within 5 feet of the firelord, that target takes 9 (2d8) fire damage and catches fire; until someone takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 5 (1d10) fire damage at the start of each of its turns.
Of the above I like #2a the best so far.

I'm confused by monsters on the OPs list. Utahraptor? That dinosaur wasn't even named until 1993, well after 2nd ed came out. How could that have been converted from 1st or 2nd ed when the namesake didn't even exist yet.
