GM: Interesting idea VLAD the Destroyer, but no. Allowing the creation spell to create spellbook pages would be very unbalanced.

Yeah I can see this. I figured since the creation spell only lasts for 24 hours it might be doable and thought it was a nice way to dismantle the book without actually destroying it. But alas that is not an option. Now I need to decide if it would be better to copy the pages as not to destroy the book or to risk dismantling the spellbook and destroying something.

OK, the plan is to finish your Day 2 journey to the base of the mountains, make camp there, then in the morning break camp early to cross the pass leading to the abandoned qalat (tower). Is that right?

Do you want to RP through the camp scene? Or would you like me to fast-forward to dawn?

EDIT: If you want me to fast-forward, you have a bit more downtime, cause Day 2 was a bit shorter on the travel time. If there's anything you'd like your PC to do at camp when I do the fast-forward narration, let me know.

And if you prepare spells, let me know which you're preparing! ACK! Brain fade, I forgot that rugged camping doesn't count as a long rest. Never mind me!

I will go along with whatever the group decides - we are moving some boxes tomorrow and the big move is saturday, and I may not have internet until Monday, and my dog is sick and has to go to the vet so... posting may be very uneven :(

I mostly just wanted to have Amina share the results of her info gathering with Akilah so I didn't have to summarize it OOC as having happened over the time skip. :)

OK, sounds good.

Btw Ancalagon, I may have not explicitly stated this since you joined the game, but your last Insight check is an example of a "pile-on" skill check. I don't like those for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that it diminishes the uniqueness / area-of-specialty of other PCs. In this case, it steps on not only Husam's toes (as he was the one conversing with the NPC), but also Akilah's as you asked to learn about the NPC's motive in pursuing the treasure – after I explicitly said we already ruled that as in Akilah's wheelhouse (a check she attempted previously).

Generally, when I want multiple people making the same check, I will communicate that clearly, using (1) the group check rules, (2) a check with consequences on a failures and the option for more than one person to attempt it, or rarely (3) a situation where everyone must make an individual check.

But pile-on Perception, Insight, or Arcana/History/Investigation/Nature/Religion checks? I'd prefer we avoid those. It's just throwing dice at a situation.

If you don't understand, I can elaborate further. I understand that it's a GMing style not all players are familiar with.
