I think you just update the thread title with (CLOSED). I'm not sure we have any mods that actually come and lock the threads, but no one will likely post after that. It should start dropping pretty quickly at that point.

Change the title to [full] or some such. Or change the title of the recruitment thread to an out of character thread.
