Because they didn't go far enough. They IMO lacked the courage of their convictions. At least, the money people did.why are you thinking they did not do that with 5.5?

They sell 4-5 books per year with PC options scattered in them. This year alone they are selling two PC centered books (FRPG and FotA). You really think they are going to create a setting that says "artificers don't exist here, you can safely avoid buying Forge of the Artificer"?WotC barely makes splat books.
I dunno maybe you should have quoted that bit instead of an entirely other bit?way too overpowered abilities and anime themed. The starting point was
Yeah it opens up more space for alternative designs for people who want them. I'd rather have a D&D with a bold and clear and consistent design, whether it's incredibly popular or just pretty popular (because it's unlikely to be less than that!) because then people who want something different can more easily find it, and people who like what D&D offers probably like it more.I agree with your read on the public. Which is why I want WotC to just pull the trigger and get it done already.
If there's someone blocking you, there's an option that hides their posts entirely from you, and that could be what you're experiencing.PS - is there a way to see if I have anyone blocked? I know I am missing some responses and I don't think it is on my end, but I am not sure!
I thought the same thing happened if I blocked someone. I just want to make sure it is not on my end. I can't stop someone from blocking me.If there's someone blocking you, there's an option that hides their posts entirely from you, and that could be what you're experiencing.
You're not advocating for a different version of official D&D? My apologies.Okay? But that's not what I'm talking about here.

No, I am expecting that they tell DMs that they can do that. They sell 4-5 books per year with PC options scattered in them. This year alone they are selling two PC centered books (FRPG and FotA). Yeah, I'm not sure where the wuxia stuff comes from and how a subclass like an Echo Knight or a Horizon Walker isn't doing Wuxia-style maneuvers. The only thing I can think of is they want those abilities out of the gate rather than Tier 2 or Tier 3 or whatever, but even in other genres, gaining power and unlocking more powerful abilities as one grows in power IS a thing, so I don't know. But that's still word salad really, because D&D characters do have plenty of arguable "anime stuff" pretty early on. It's just a bit randomly distributed.
