For extra bonus points, she's really a damsel - but one who is phenomenally well connected politically, who has a mad brother who demands to duel a PC for impinging her 'honor' (which the PC probably didn't), and who has a family who now thrusts the PCs into a political quagmire involving the family members who would have inherited if the damsel had died.

Well, I voted vampire. But in truth I'll take anything besides the DM saying:

"As you slay the final guard before entering the cell you hear, 'Hello. My name is Enigo Montoya. You just killed my father. Prepare to die.'"

Talk about lines that get over used! [Great movie ... but over used.]

And her guard captain father.
With a loaded crossbow.

This is the closest to what I would suggest, and maybe better... but here's mine:

A damsel, a very air-headed, spoiled, selfish, stubborn, egocentric, (you get the idea) damsel. Basically as much of a pain in the rear as any of those other monsters....

Other: A Pe'nanggalan. The best (worst) thing about them is they can hide under the disguise of a DMPC. That, and they're immune to alignment detection during the day.

I voted "all of the above", because it was reasonably close to the truth in our campaign.

Turned out the damsel really was in distress and needed our help, but nevertheless, she was also a werewolf whose father was a vampire who was allied with the black dragon BBEG. No succubi so far, though.

The damsel is still with the party - she and the paladin became lovers. My cleric lost interest in her once he found out she was a werewolf, because he wasn't interested in having puppies.

I've often wondered: Is all of a medusa's hair snakes, or just the hair on the head? Medusas might have scary bikini lines!

D&D medusa have a scaly hide (now), so they're completely hairless.

But for other renditions, you can look here. Grandma wouldn't approve of all the pics on that site, be forewarned. And in particular, there's one with pubic and armpit snakes. Ewwww!

Darn you to heck, Barak! I scanned all the way to the bottom of the thread to make sure nobody had posted that so I could ... And right at the bottom. :p
