1) There are feats that give you bonuses to damage and/or defenses for having two weapons.

2) There are powers (Ranger class has most of them, and Fighter has a few in Martial Power) that key off of twin weapon usage.

All in all, it's not a way to get free attacks, but it does permit heavy damage output in those classes that have it.

As a rogue, not so helpful to you.

Yea i did not look thinking i might of been able to use my second weapon as a minor or somthing like that, maybe i should replace the feat (if my DM will let me) with the ability to roll D8s on sneak attack instead of D6s

If your DM isn't cooperative now, the next time you level up remember to take a good look at the Retraining rules on page 28 of the Player's Handbook.

There is also the flavor of a two weapon fighter, which can be cool. The thing is, unlike in 3.5, you don't take a penalty for holding a weapon in each hand if you don't have the two weapon fighting feat, so if you are not planning on doing anything with the other hand, might as well hold another dagger in it.

At low levels before you have an enchanted weapon, it might be a good idea anyways so you can toss a dagger as a ranged attack and still have one in your hand.

If you are planning on going for two weapon fighting, the feat gives you a +1 damage bonus to main hand attacks (in your case all of them) and unlocks two weapon defense, which gives you a +1 AC and Reflex defense bonus. You might also consider multiclassing into Ranger and taking a power or two to capitalize on your two weaponness.

You don't take a penalty for holding a dagger or whatever in your offhand and doing nothing with it in 3E, either. The closest possible thing you might have been referring to is the buckler rules. Even then, the penalties only come into play if you're actually attacking with a weapon with the buckler arm.

Sehanine is a good all-purpose Rogue deity, though you might also follow Avandra, especially if you are more good than unaligned.

Two Weapon Fighting and Two Weapon Defense are the basic two feats for Dual Wielders. There are others which you can take as well.

Especially since all thrown magic weapons now return to the wielder when thrown, a particularly flexible tactic is to use a throwable weapon in your off-hand. This allows you to make easy ranged attacks, whenever necessary, as well as qualifying for use with the two-weapon feats. Unless you choose to multiclass into Ranger or Tempest Fighter, however, the second weapon doesn't factor in to your attacks too much (though it does add to damage, and your defenses). Paragon and Epic feats will make this better.

You could also get proficiency in the parrying dagger, or get a magical "mage's weapon" parrying dagger that grants proficiency with itself. That would give you +1 to AC, along with the two weapon defense feat. This is just a replacing mechanism for a shield - although rogues would not want shields usually, since they interfere with skills and you'd also need str for shield proficiency.

A drow rogue could be more effective with a dagger in main hand and a hand crossbow in the second. Two-fisted shooter feat is nice with Drow rogue/daggermasters in particular, since there is a drow feat that increases damage with hand crossbows.
