A little thing called Generating Reviews.

These days when someone wants a free book to review, I will send them just 1 book at a time, usually a 17 Magic Items book. Yet even for a 12-page book like that, they usually do not come through with reviews.

Sounds like a good policy.

I agree. I had a list of about 10 reviewers, which I just thinned down to 4, because the other six had not done any reviews for over 3 months (even though they promised they would.

This is exactly what I am doing. One product at a time. I'm keeping track of who gets what and when they get the PDF. I understand the frustration and frankly this behavior is appalling. It makes reviewers in general look bad, as a few bad apples does spoil the bunch. There are companies that it seems have just stopped submitting review copies to anyone, and I can understand that fully.

That might be the basis for an ad campaign I'm getting ready for:

Murchad's Legacy: size matters

:)

Sorry, Biggus, beat you to it with the Bride of Portable Hole campaign.

Bigger and Better
Don't let anyone else tell you different, it's as you always suspected in your deepest fears. Size matters, and there's no denying it.
That's why the peeps over at ENPublishing have upgraded and enlarged the Portable Hole Full of Beer, and are re-releasing it as Bride of Portable Hole: The Book of Neurotic Fantasy. We've combined the contents of Ambient Inc.'s 2002 ENnie Award-winning Portable Hole Full of Beer: this product contains no alcohol with ENPublishing's 2003 sequel, Son of a Portable Hole, updated the stats, and added new content to create this daunting, Anatomically Over-Endowed PDF with 174 pages of hilarious content!

Crothian,
I sent you a copy of 'Baba Yaga' a week ago to review. Within hours of its release our team found several major errors in some of the stat blocks (which got lost in the shuffle during layout), so we corrected it, re-uploaded it to its various places, and all was fine. I just sent you a copy of the new, improved 'Baba Yaga', and I wanted to say hell, yeah - farm the Old Lady out to a willing volunteer. I trust your judgement, and would love a review sooner than later. Thanks again. :D

I got that, thanks. I'll make sure the review refelcts the latest version of the book. I fully understand the ease of PDFs to edit and fix errors after the fact. So I'm perfectly okay getting new update copies and making sure my review reflects this. Thanks.

wow, we have the first couple of reviews posted already. :D

I'll give you a million ruples if you send my books to someone other than the one that reviewed Unorthodox Fighters.

Man, it was brutal.

But, I guess that is the price for sending review copies. Take the good with the bad. And I guess it was fair enough.

But man, it was brutal.

Hey, a 3/5 says you did OK.

Of course, if I'm next on his list, I feel like Peter Parker in the first Spider Man movie where he's walking up to the wrestling cage with Bonesaw, and they're escorting the previous wrestler on a stretcher, while he screams "My legs! I can't feel my legs!"

;)

"Hey freak show! You're going nowhere. I got you for three minutes. Three minutes of playtime."

Murchad's Legacy looks cool, though. I'm sure you'll do fine.
