A little thing called Generating Reviews.

14 days of the review experiment. We've had one publisher decide not tp particpate anymore (Ronin Arts) but other then feedback has been about average.

46 reviews have been generated in these two weeks out of 78 products being handed out for review. Only 4 products sent out in the first week have yet to be reviewed.

I've started a quality control with the people the post reviews through this experioment. The main thing I'm going for with them is making sure the reviews give enough infomation and to improve on reviewing skills. As always hearing from the publishers particpating and the ones not are welcome. If other publishers want to join in that is fine too.

Thanks.

So far I'm okay with it. The one thing I have noticed is that I'm getting reviews for things that have already been reviewed (in my case, Liber Sodalitas: The Blind Path--which was reviewed by Crothian--and Bardic Lore: The Fachan and Ogham. Not that it's bad, but I'd rather see unreviewed items get the chance.

The quality of the reviews has been hit and miss, though I am willing to cut some slack here for the time being. How long, that remains to be seen.

For the moment, we'll stay in and see how August goes.

PS: It would a very nice thing if people participating in the review project would sign their reviews with their real name. While it's perfectly fine to me for a fan review to come from "Bucolic_Gamer," a review coming from a project directed by EN World's Review Dude should have a little more professionalism. Besides, I would like to thank people by name, if possible. Just a suggestion.

I'm handing out old product as well as new product. I'm not worried about how many reviews an item already has since many times multiple reviews is very useful.

To be clear, my reasons for choosing to discontinue support of the project stem from reviewers with an obvious bias for the types of products that we tend to release and, most importantly, two reviews that docked a product for being material that WotC should have published in the book the SRD material was created from.

A little more info on the 'intern' reviewers would be a good thing. It can only serve to improve the industry, however small it is for now, if we all conduct our business as professionals.

Um, okay. Like what though? I'm not against the idea, but it's not like a lot is really know n about myself on the boards either.

Well, knowing a reviewer's real name sure would do a lot to increase folks' comfort level. You've posted or mentioned often enough your own name, and you're such a familiar presence that publishers and buyers trust your opinion and your character.

It would be interesting, refreshing and reassuring to know a little about a new reviewer. Where they're from, how long they've been gaming, what they're written/edited/reviewed before. Again, these things probably haven't been asked of you because you have been the busiest reviewer on ENWorld for a good amount of time, and familiarity fosters trust.

It was just a thought. Absolutely not a criticism. :D

Holy Sh . . . stuff!

Crothian, thanks for the superfast review of the Capable Hero. I appreciate how positive it is, but moreso how fast. I just sent that comp copy on Saturday. Thank you very much for your dedication.

And I'm also very pleased at the 4 stars, but I appreciate any review, good or bad.

Thanks again. Your hard work is appreciated.

While I am sad to see Phil is no longer participating in this review program, I am thankful for the good review I got on Prestige Secrets: Assassins. I hope we can get my next product, Prestige Secrets: Shadowdancers, reviewed somehow, as I think it really helps someone like me.
