In a module or two, yes. But they were not prominent.

The xixchil (sp?) and rastipedes (also sp?) at least were in the Spacefarer's Handbook.
What WotC did with various historic Birdfolk and Catfolk options was fold them into one each, the Aaroccka and Tabaxi respectively, to aid D&D brand identity. I remember Mearla and Wyatt discussing this fairly extensively. I also recall that Crawford said that Theros was just going to use Tabaxi for Leonine, but the Leonine really didn't fit the stats for Tabaxi: after Tasha's, with the fix to Race ASI, they wouldn't do the same thing again.

The Thri-keen are the D&D Bugfolk, so those others are probably just folded into them for ease of branding across Settings.

Eh, we'll see. Something tells me they don't want to attempt a full psion again and we're stuck with the subclasses that I'm not a fan of, and that would be the main thing Dark Sun would need.

My opinion, of course.
Oh, yeah, no, they won't do a Psion Class. I think they will do a Dark Sun take eventually, but by reprinting the Tasha's material and with some Wild Talents similar to Supernatural Gifts

That's a shame, because the Leonin are much more interesting for not just being "Theros Tabaxi".

I mean, making the Tasha's and Monsters of the Multiverse rules adjustments...there's really not much difference. Which is why the Multiverse treatment explicitly opesn up what kind of Big Cat a Tabaxi can represent.

@Jer Actually, given the framing at the time, and that Theros and Icewind Dale were the last books to use non-Tasha's ASI rules, I think the "we want to use Tabaxi, but this story calls for a Strength Race..." was a major factor in inspiring the Tasha rule adjustment.

You are 1,000% correct there. I may not like it, but that doesn't change things.

I do wish they would change their mind with that one, because I would much rather an official psion than a homebrew one.

I was intrigued by the Concentration bending mechanic that Mearls spent some time experimenting with on his podcast back when, but yeah, I just don't see a Psionic full Class coming to D&D anytime soon.
