As the sailors are slipping off the slanting deck away from the wind, Kaedyn realizes that swinging the ship around to put the wind across the deck from the opposite side with cause the ship to heel over. He joins the helmsman at the wheel and lends his weight to the task, "Shift her to the other tack and she'll lean the other way!"

[sblock=OOC]Without trimming the sails for the new tack, the ship will lean even further with the wind at the right angle. This should cause a 60-90 degree shift of the deck to assist all the sailors to keep them from sliding off, possibly ending the problem all by itself as the side of the ship gets close to 60-45 degrees from horizontal. Sort of like this picture but even more.

[sblock=OCC]We'll probably lose the sails and the mast if we don't cut the sails short. But we don't want to trim them too much and become sitting ducks to the wave. [/sblock]

<<OOC: Basic seamanship had that done already before we hit the storm. ;)Otherwise both masts and sails would be long gone before now. Then we would have capsized when we got hit in the beam by a large enough wave and sank. TPK probably.>>

Cliff, as he climb, see a sailor falling overboard. Keeping one hand to the rope, he push the side of the boat with his legs and swing to catch the sailor. He grip the falling sailor's hand but with the water, he feels the hand slip. "Hold on!, The water is not good, trust me."

Hoping his safety line is enough to keep him on board, Lochlan moves around the mid-deck helping the sailor tie themselves to the safety lines.

Somehow I thought I had posted. It got lost on the internet highway! Damn!

Kaedyn maneuver gets many sailors to safety, but there are still many hanging from different apparels and ropes!

Chizz manages to pull a sailor back on board, but the others are not so lucky, Asterion, Cliff and Lochlan only see the terrified look in the sailors's faces as they fall into the darkness of the sea, before the waves claim them forever.

Taran still struggles with the current, unable to pull up. He starts to feel the need of taking a breath.

[sblock=Storm]

Sailors lost: 3
Sailors saved: 6
Sailors to save: 9

Kaedyn maneuver gets everyone a +2 in their rescue attempts, and saves 5 sliding sailors. Taran will lose a healing surge if he doesn't succeed this turn.
