A Review of 6E

Having been reinvented five times over (FTA 2e, 3e/3.5, 4e, 4.25, 5e - and each new incarnation wiped clean thereafter), the final solution to Greyhawk is nearly upon us; Gygax's spirit has been located on Arcadia and offered full creative control of the setting.

Said the great master, 'Greyhawk? I wouldn't touch that mess with a ten foot pole!'

What we all want to know is what's Crothian's postcount? :)

It's kind of been a moot point ever since they made Crothian's brain the server for ENWorld. I mean, now that he can instantaneously reply to every single incoming message, keeping track of his postcount is impossible. In the time it takes you to look at the number, he's probably added 500-1000 posts.

So... did they get rid of that st00pid rule where Paladins had to keep their mounts in a ball and then throw it on the ground to summon it? (Assuming Paladins are a Base Class Again and not an Expanded Prestigious Class like in 5.25... Blech.)

Paladins are reclassified as a Prestigious Base Class.

As to the mounts, you no longer keep them in the summoning balls. Now they are stored in small vials, magically rendered into a fluid state. To summon your mount, you just pour out your Liquid Horse and allow to harden.

Will there be a new version of Return To The Revenge Of The Tomb Of Horrors (Of Death (From Hell (Of Doom)))?

And will it have new rules? As far as I can remember, the 5.125E version of this classic had rules for the DM punching the players into the face as soon as their characters enter the dungeon.

Also, how much pages does the new clarification for Wild Shape/Polymorph take? Did they manage to cram it onto less than 250 pages this time?

The punching is still in there, but not in the face. Torso and limbs only. Knees to the groin are now permitted, however.

The latest version of the adventure comes bundled with a virus program that the DM can upload to the players' character sheet as soon as they say "I enter the Tomb".

As for the Polymorph question, 252 pages. Close, but not quite. Not that I'm surprised, when you have to account for Supernatural abilities, Unnatural abilities, Just Plain Weird abilities, Spell-Like abilities, Power-Like abilities, Anime-Like abilities, Extraordinary abilities, Ordinary abilities, and Nifty abilities.

You guys are so last Millenium ever since True20 v5 came packaged with the CerebumDirect VR interface anyone who wants a real immersive roleplaying experience has uploaded their conciousness to the TrueWorlds Portal - comeon they've even perfected the ofalctory stimulators...

No. Eberron has been the default setting since 4.5, when WotC finally gave up trying to make Greyhawk fans happy, and they have no intention of changing that. My Indaria setting won the 5e setting search (I know I haven't written much since the ICS, but programming still pays a lot better than writing gaming books, sorry)
Our group are thinking of switching to Indaria.

I know WotC has to keep producing books in order to stay in business, but some of the latest Eberron books have been really dumb.

I especially hate "Eberron in Flames: The War after the Last War" and the way it re-drew the entire map. All of a sudden my "Sharn: City of Towers" is out of date and I have to buy "Sharn: City of Ruins" instead.

All those Xendrick regional books are a let down as well. I mean, does one continent need 87 supplements? And I'd like to throttle the guy who came up with the gimic of not having any maps in any of them, in order to keep their promise of Xendrick remaining "unmapped".

Does anyone know how far the drow cloning factory is from the home of the feral lycanthropic half-dragon ogre hulking hurlers? I have one of each in the party, and I need to know whether the PCs would have met previously.

Did they merge wacky back into just plain weird? I always felt they were closer to Nifty from a mechanical standpoint, given that they're both Swift Quantum actions only provoke two AoOs each.

I'm still upset about the beholder's favored class being bard.
I know what you mean. Minstrel's an even better fit than it was in 5.75. You know how Hasbro/M$oft is with their sacred cows.

Is it true the ideal party consists of two players and a DM? I thought it was a bit thin in 5.X E with only three players and now we're down to two! Luckily the poly-classing rules seems to work.
