What's the purpose to try and "prove" something that legally bears the name X is not X? You can certainly differentiate different versions of X, but they are still all X.
For example, there can be REH Conan, Robert Jordan Conan, Arnold Conan, etc., but they are still all Conan. You might want yo say there will soon be Lucas SW and Disney SW, but it will still be SW.
Same with D&D. You can say you like (or dislike) Gygaxian D&D or WotC D&D, but it is still all D&D.
