A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

Vanitri chuckles, "You do have a point, but given that she's had plenty of opertunity to harm me and hasn't, unlike your demons or undead, I'm willing to chance it. Besides, like I said, I'll keep my eye out. And I don't think it'd hurt you to try talking to her once."

"She's a kissy elf, not a killy elf," Laynie adds, "But some people can seem nice and really be mean and bad. Like Cade the halfling."

*Elektra laughs at Laynie's first comment, then turns to Vanitri.*

"Even evil beings don't often just randomly up and kill people--if she likes you, she wouldn't kill you yet whether or not she's evil."

[cheese]"There is good in her, I sense it."[/cheese]

"I am aware. But now not only do I have my eyes pealed, I have you and Laynie looking after me. Right Laynie?"

"Um, hopefully she won't be killing me Laynie, but thank's for the support," he says with a chuckle.

"Anyway, you think that's why my roomie stayed away? I wonder how he knew she was there?"

"That could be it. That would be unusually perceptive of him from what we've seen, though," Elektra ponders.

"Maybe Misha beat him up and put him in jail so he would go away and not bother you," Laynie suggests.

"Hey, it seemed more likely than the donut people coming to put him in jail for eating so many of their brothers," Laynie shrugs.

"Now now, Laynie. We know he's fat, but...actually, perhaps he could have experienced health complications related to his obesity. I agree--the Healing Ward is a good place to check."

"Well, I'll look for him there, let me know if either of you see him around. You want to come with Laynie?"

"Okay!" Laynie replies agreeably, tagging along behind Vanitri

*They head to the Healing Ward, where sick and injured students are treated by several priests on staff. Dolder Vreemont is nowhere to be seen, so Vanitri asks around after him.*

"I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anyone like that here," the young elven trainee replies, as she heads over to check on a patient.
