A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

Vanitri sighs, "I know one of the janitors disapeared last night as well. Any clue when the last time anyone saw Dolder was?"

"Well, if you didn't see him after that, it was yesterday in class, I think. Another janitor...we need to get to the bottom of this. I don't want them to have to put school on hiatus temporarily, but I'm not sure that there is another solution right now...How curious that Dolder would vanish, though."

"Because that'd make him the only human, right? Not that I'm looking into that sort of thing of course, that's only a theory." Vanitri says with a wink. "Care to make tea and discuss theory? No one'd realy bother us 'bout that."

*Rayne nods slowly, and heads over to set the water to boil with a cantrip and mix some tea leaves.*

"You know I said you shouldn't get involved," she shakes her head slightly, "But it seems like you've been checking up on all of them..."

"Us tricky freefolk, right?" he says with a wink.

"Laynie, go find Lex and let her know we haven't found Dolder yet. Then have her give you a piece of candy from her 3rd desk drawer on the left, since you were a good girl at the Healer's, ok?"

"I'd rather call it a mutual business arangement, but yes."

"However, having visions of fighting a Dark Lord durring my trial piqued my curiosity a bit, so I can't help but be the least bit curious when strange notes appear and now people disapear."

"Your trial...oh dear. You know that those are only possible futures, right? I'm tempted to send you away, then, to ensure that such a future never spells your doom...A dark lord...There have been so many of those in the history of Medibaria, but...If not for Dolder Vreemont, I might think it was...But I can't mention that to the students, I'm sorry."

"Well, it was someone I knew. Could be Dolder for all I know, which means everything fits with our profile so far of non-humans. I'd guess that's this theoretical Dark Lord's pattern that you can't talk about."

"Well, I can't talk about it, of course. Dolder Vreemont was a human and a low-ranking Highborne whose family has fallen into poverty, but a Highborne nonetheless. I highly doubt that he could be a Dark Lord, though. Doesn't seem like the type, and isn't talented enough. Talent is really a factor that proves a lot of the shadier students here innocent, even the sithinaar'liir."
