A Teacher for Laynie: Mystery at the Academy (Part 2)

[Rystil Arden]

"Wait, I guess I missed this last time, but Rayne is on the family tree? Ah, I guess that's it then--her human half must be Highborne. I guess that makes sense, but I didn't know that until now."

"Anyway, you've got the map, which is great! Does it say where to go? Also, I hope you did a rubbing or copy cantrip and didn't take the original--they're sure to find it missing and use divinations to locate it, I'd imagine."

 

[Bront]

"Nope, it's origional, haven't managed that copy cantrip yet, and a rubbing would have destroyed it. If you can do one, I can get it back there while you examine it."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"As long as it's nonmagical--let's see if it'll do the trick."

*She casts the spell, and it slowly begins to scribe the map onto a blank piece of parchment of the same size. she nods.*

"Good. That much of it is nonmagical, at least."

*Once it is done, she turns to him.*

"Sorry you have to go back a third time--wouldn't it be ironic if you were caught returning and not stealing?"

 

[Bront]

"Don't even think about it. I'm off," He says, vanishing under the cloak.

[Rystil Arden]

*It takes a while for a professor, and this time, he's exiting the lounge. Vanitri slips through the closing door, and manages to replace the map, though he can't remember 100% exactly where it had been. Still, it should probably be enough.*

(OOC: Want to do anything else while back in there or return again?)

 

[Bront]

Vanitri will do a quick search while he's hear for anything that catches his eye as usefull.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*The library is pretty big, so without any direction, he doesn't really have a good place to start in a 'quick search for something useful'. Leaving empty-handed, which is good is Lex is right, Vanitri sneaks out and into the Sice complex carefully, when suddenly laughter rings down the halls followed by a young, probably freshman, girl running at full speed who slams right into invisible Vanitri.*

"Huh?" she calls out to her friend, "Did I just bump into something?"

"I didn't see anything. But you just kind of knocked over. Did you trip?"

"No I bumped. You don't suppose?..."

"Something's invisible! Great Sice! We're about to be abducted! Run! Run!!!" she screams at the top of her lungs and runs away, with the girl at Vanitri's feet likely close behind unless he decides to try to restrain her.

 

[Bront]

Vanitri will bolt for another door.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Vanitri gets out, both girls screaming as they run the opposite direction. He makes it back to Elektra slowly and stealthily.*

"Did you hear? The kidnapper tried again on two girls in Sice, but this time they escaped before they could be taken. How unusual, hmm?"

"Yup--sounds like Mister Vanitri was too loud this time."

 

[Bront]

"Sorry, got a little grabby there," Vanitri says with a wink.

"But hey, the resulting extra security should be welcome. It may also flush the real one out."
