Action during a charge, critical hit

First Post
1) Can you draw a weapon (if you have a +1 Bab) during a charge like during a movement action. (Without Quick draw of course).

2) If the target is invisible, or if you are blind, or in a total darkness area, you can't do sneak attack damage on a sucessfull hit, but can you make a critical hit ?

Thanks

1 . yes- you are spending at least as much time moving as a standard move so why not. I think of it like a joust- bad analogy I now but when they charge they get it ready as they are going.
2. yep- its still possible to be lucky even if you dont know it.

1. Yes, absolutely. You are drawing the weapon as part of movement.
2. Yes. A critical hit is just a lucky strike to a vital area. The only limitation is if concealment is occuring as part of cover such as a Tower Shield or a Wall.

If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move. If you have the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, you can draw two light or one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw one.

Emphasis mine. Charge is not a regular move, it's a full round action.

Invisibility does not, by itself, make a creature immune to critical hits, but it does make the creature immune to extra damage from being a ranger’s favored enemy and from sneak attacks.

On a slight hijack, I thought ranger favored enemy damage was no longer precision based in 3.5 and thus could be applied to undead, constructs, etc. I know rogues can't sneak attack someone with concealment (and invis = total concealment), but I don't see why rangers are affected at all. Hold over from 3.0?

While I agree with Frank and Bastoche as far as RAW, I personally allow a character to draw their weapon as part of a charge action. Though I suppose if you didn't then it'd have the advantage of making Quick Draw a more attractive feat than it is.

As far as Shadeus's question goes, I believe the reason the Ranger does not get his favored enemy bonus is because it involves knowing how the creature moves and where its weak points are. When you can't see it, you don't know -- particularly if you don't know what the invisibile creture is.

Thanks, I would probably do as ChronoDekar.

I also like the "lucky strike to vital parts" justification of the critical hit question.

If you don’t have line of sight to the opponent at the start of your turn, you can’t charge that opponent.
