Now that you mention it the destiny boon and the epic path boons do seem similar in power level. That isn't bad.
I do really like the epic path in ODL and the epic backgrounds in raiders of the serpent seas. It is such an interesting and unique feature. Anyone reading who doesn't know, the epic paths tie the PC I to the story. So in the campaign (Greek themed) the demi-god epic path is an estranged child of a god king npc you deal with. At various parts in the campaign there will be a note saying "if there is a demigod in your party this extra scene happens or this other information is revealed". Having players use them or not doesn't really changed things but allowing the players to use them will enhance things because the player then is tied into the campaign.
