"Enough t'rowin' tings" Talks-to-the-Moon swipes at her bloodied shoulder with her free hand, and splashes a little blood on the flat of her blade. For luck. Maybe it helps; when she steps forward to stab the mercenary who's got Abagail backed up against the wall, her runed knife bites deep.
[sblock=BenBrown]I think I'm at 23 hp; taking into account the archer's attack that missed thanks to cover, I've only been hit once.[/sblock][sblock=Actions]Move: to A17
Standard: Stab the Mercenary with Magic Weapon: 24 vs AC, 9 damage. Abagail gets a +1 power bonus to hit and a +3 power bonus to damage until the end of my next turn.[/sblock]

Going over the fight so far, it looks like Talks-to-the-Moon has been hit three times, twice by crossbow bolts from Merc #2, and once by an arrow from an archer, each for 3 points damage.

Round 1: readied actions
The woman with the crossbow takes aim on Talks-to-the-Moon as soon as she moves through the curtain, grazing her across the shoulder.
Readied action crossbow attack on Talks-to-the-Moon: (1d20+9=17) Damage: (1d8+2=3)

Round 2: includes the one I originally thought hit you.
As he moves, archers pop up from behind the crates, loosing a volley of arrows. Dante, and Virgil, are scratched by them and Talks-to-the-Moon is only saved by the crate she's behind, but Abigail, despite being closer, avoids any damage as the arrow buries itself in the wall two feet away from her.

Archers #1-#4 - Move: stand up, Standard: Attacking Abigail, Virgil, Dante, Talks-to-the-Moon (1d20+8=12, 1d20+8=23, 1d20+8=18, 1d20+8=18) Miss, 3 damage, 3 damage, Miss

Finally, the female crossbow wielder steps out from behind the goblin, and looses another bolt at Talks-to-the-Moon, again wounding her.

Mercenary #2 - Move: to G19, Standard: Crossbow vs. Talks-to-the-Moon (1d20+9=26) Damage: (1d8+2=3)

Round 3:
The archers then shoot. The first at Abigail, hitting her; the second at Talks-to-the-Moon, likewise hitting.

Archer #1 - Standard: Shoot at Abigail--5 damage
Archer #2 - Standard: Shoot at Talks-to-the-Moon--3 damage
Archer #3 - Standard: Shoot at Dante--miss
Archer #4 - Move: shift to I20, Standard: Shoot at Dante
Rolls: (1d20+8=23, 1d20+8=27, 1d20+8=12, 1d20+8=9)

Round 4:
One lone archer is not part of any of these groups. Deciding to keep doing what he's been doing, he shoots another arrow at Talks-to-the-Moon, which doesn't even come close.

Archer #2 - Standard: Shoot Talks-to-theMoon:(1d20+8=11)--miss

Round 5:
No attacks on Talks-to-the-Moon

[sblock=OOC]So... we're just waiting for Wik and Eternal, correct? I'm hoping (if probably in vain) that we can finish this fight before this weekend when I leave on Spring Break. I might have internet access for some of the break, but it may only be until Monday or Tuesday...[/sblock]

Eraden readies his sword for another attack against the mercenary in front of him, eldritch energy still lingering around him when a chained kama stikes from afar, dropping the man dead. Annoyed at the senseless murder Edaren scowls at Dante for the briefest moment but presses on to the wizard. "And so he was judged." Eraden says to himself. Now standing infront of the wizard Eraden stikes out with his heavy shield but the wizard is obviously a combat caster and easily dodges the slow striking blow.

Move=shift to G19
Standard=Shielding Smite Misses wizard.
Action Point-Second Wind.

[sblock=wizard stats]I basically pulled some stats out of the character builder here. Didn't even notice the AC. She's definitely more tank-ish than I'd realized.[/sblock]

[sblock=Tactics]So... we're pretty much out of heals and a bunch of us are pretty screwed up. I'm going to drop my daily next round - if it hits, it'll be alot of damage, just not sure who to go for.

The wizard is scary, being both the caster and the tank, might be good to focus fire on him, but then there's also the elite leader to worry about, a handful of minions, and a couple other monsters, most of which are unhurt... I think we all need to start unloading dallies if we want to survive this.[/sblock]

I agree, things could get worse before they get better. Dailies may be what we need now, but I dont think it would be wise for everyone to use theirs this encounter. Also, the wizard does indeed have to go down but unliss your daily has a miss effect, he may not be the best target for it. Best we can hope for right now are many misses on Ben's part.

[sblock=villain stats]This is my first time running 4E, and I appear to have made the mistake of thinking things straight out of the compendium would be balanced. Actually, as I look at the stats in the DMG, it looks like some of the ones I selected are way out of wack--especially the wizard's defenses. I'm going to go over them and may re-jigger the numbers. This may lead to a minor retcon or two. The goblins are fine, as are the archers. The mercenaries probably too, but the wizard and the leader probably need some modification. I won't have time to get to this until tomorrow afternoon, so sit tight. I will let you know.[/sblock]
