[sblock=ooc]I was planning to update at lunch but now looks like that may not be possible... I will update at some time tonight for sure.[/sblock]

Jynxx pulls his lute from behind his back. "I am glad all is well now. Perhaps some light music will put your sword arms and magical powers to rest for a short time. I will try to help you relax."

When he finishs, he turns to Krasseus. "Pray tell me sir, who where those vertically challenged people and the rather scaley lizardman?" A twinkle in his eye shows that he is already past the death and destruction that lay in their somewhat recent past. "Sister! Perhaps you are not the oddest one we will meet on this journey. I do think the lizard is giving you a run for your money."

"I'm. . . I'll be okay in a minute," Kaeysari says. "Did you get hurt at all?"

"I've got about a thousand snakebites," grumbles Papolstaanas, rubbing his scaly arms. "They itch! But you should have seen how this really amazing sort of little snowstorm came up and..." He breaks off as Jynxx begins speaking to Krassus, because there's something bothering him in the back of his mind, something important that he wasn't supposed to forget. What was it? Ah yes, that thing about keeping his fool mouth shut and letting other people speak when there is something to say to someone important. Papolstaanas nods wisely to himself. Which looks sort of stupid, because here he is now, apparently nodding at nothing in particular, as though he has an imaginary friend. Will Krassus think he is crazy? But, no, there's no need to explain it. It's important to remember that however silly he looks silently nodding to himself, he will look about a hundred times sillier the moment he opens his mouth. Papolstaanas feels pleased with himself for working all of this out without saying anything. He's learning so much these days!

[sblock=ooc]Volleyball turned into an unexpected double header tonight... I'll record and post updated status after the healing later... zzzzz...[/sblock]

[sblock=Chaku / search results]
In your search of the bodies, you recover some gold coins of an unfamiliar minting. They are wider but thinner than the coins commonly found in Daunton. They total 40 gp. The wereserpent also had a stone vial of liquid.

[sblock=Arcana (auto, trained only)]It's a potion of healing.[/sblock]

Both the halflings' and the lycanthrope's armor is of a strange construction. Over a more-or-less ordinary suit of leather jack are sown patches of other leather, some snakeskin, others perhaps humanoid. These patches seem decorative rather than functional. In their hair, in addition to feathers and beads are snake scales stuck with some kind of adhesive. They sparkle a bit in the light. (Note, personal hygiene was not the strong suit of these people...)

All three bodies had a carefully wrapped obsidian bowl in an inner pocket of the armor. The bowls are crudely made and not particularly valuable. They are etched with a rough scale pattern and a brownish residue is inside. The residue matches stains around the lips of the corpses. Finally, each had a pouch on a leather thong around the neck. Inside the pouch is a brownish-black powder mixed with some grey lumpy bits of a different material.

[sblock=Nature DC 12 (active or passive)]Judging from the smell and color, the powder is likely dried and powdered zocalti. The lumps are harder to identify.[/sblock]
[sblock=Nature DC 17 (active)]The lumps are definitely plant material as well.[sblock=Nature DC 22 (same roll)]The lumps come from a plant root. They've been dried as well.[/sblock][/sblock]
(Assuming you share your discoveries with others they should just go ahead and read this block.)

Krassus is obviously still shaken, but the questions directed his way seem to help him gather focus. "What happened?" he says. "These maniacs - savages, they came in and started killing... killed the guards, killed everyone. Burned the trees and took the zocalti we'd finished drying."

He looks around at the group, his gaze lingering on the nodding kobold in brief puzzlement. "Uh, you obviously know who I am. But who are you? What are you doing here?" His eyes narrow with suspicion.

He looks over at Kaeysari.

[sblock=Imperial/Elven]"You're a citizen of the Imperium? So then I suppose you're in charge?"[/sblock]

While those with more intelligence and social ettiquette discuss things with Krassus, Chaku sets the items he's found on the floor of the hut, spending a few minutes trying to divide the 40GP evenly between 6, ultimately being unsuccessfull. During a lull in the conversation with Krassus, Chaku pipes in, Know what this is all about? The bodies had a bit of this powdered zocalti around their mouths too.

He then unstoppers the vial, sniffs it carefully, hoping for a strong liquor, much to his dismay. With a shrug, he stoppers it back up and returns it to it's place on the floor. Hmm, not spirits, but still has an odd fruity smell, I wonder what it is?

[sblock=Loot/OOC]I think someone should hold on to the cash until we get more so that it can be used to even out any uneven treasure distributions. Once someone tells him about the vial, he'll vote for either Kaeysari or Jynxx have the potion based solely on the logic of she got dropped= needs healing and jynxx can heal = needs to be alive.

Also, feel free to read my search block since I've shown everyone the bowls/pouches.[/sblock]

[sblock=Ignore this Post, I apparently can't read lol]Jynxx glances at what Chaku brought in. "It is all plant material... some of it is the zocalti, while other parts are some kind of dried root. Very interesting. " Jynxx pauses as he notices the vial, "And a healing serum. Very nice. Well done my goliath friend."

"Please watch and see if you can tell if this man lies. While I am very well endowed in such arts, I confess I do not catch all." Jynxx words silently to his companions.
[/sblock]
"We were sent by a very concerned lady. She goes by the name of Hedra Silverships. A very polite woman, although a bit rough from life at sea. While I would normally take this time to introduce each of my companions propertly, I feel other needs have to be addressed first."

"Tell me, what is this zocalti plant that keeps popping up? I cannot be used just for food, since we have just seen armor that was produced by it. A wise man once said that you will discover your true friends when the ice you are walking on breaks. Your ice broke, and we are your friends."

[sblock=Zocalti armor?]Not sure where you got the idea of armor made from zocalti? It's got weird stuff but it's all leather...

Also remember you can't selectively broadcast, Krassus would "hear" you too. Although you could probably send it to each individually in this case, it wouldn't make much difference.

Nuts, I was going to do Krassus' response but I just got a call and have to leave... I'll try another late night update if possible. You might not know enough before he tells more, but if anyone has more questions for Krassus at this time please post them. :)[/sblock]

Kaeysari replies to Krassus with a slightly mournful tone.

[sblock=Imperia/Elven]"Not a citizen, just a soldier. None of us is 'in charge' here. We're equal partners in this."[/sblock]
She switches to Allarian. "But Jynxx is the one who speaks most often."

Papolstaanas has turned his attention to the objects that Chaku has placed on the floor, stirring the powdery, lumpy residue on the inside of one of the pouches around with his claw. He can't quite figure out what the lumps are; he watches Chaku attempt to divide up the coins, refraining from suggesting anything, even though he is pretty sure that 40 coins ought to divide up nicely between six people, because forty and six are both even numbers, he's pretty sure. But the money doesn't really matter, and he doesn't want to make Chaku feel stupid, because Chaku is so nice...

Papolstaanas looks up sharply as Jynxx sends out his mental message, still very displeased about the bard's intrusions into his mind, but still says nothing.
