ooc: sorry I've been out of touch, but it doesn't actually impact anything, A'jardin stays with Scun outside the town (and wishes he had a horse)

*As the five adventurers, plus Vrina, Alton, and Lena, sit in the waiting room, waiting for the mayor to finish his earlier appointment, they hear a loud shouting voice with a slight goblin accent that sounds like Jiigral.*

"How dare you! I should burn down the other half of your village and take the rest of your women!"

*There is a pause, probably a response, and then Jiigral growls angrily.*

"Your militia doesn't scare me! I will be back with more of my people, and then we will have this little 'discussion' again! I want the rest, down to the gold piece!"

*There is a heavy slamming of a door, and the group sees Jiigral from the waiting room window walking out of the building carrying two huge fifty-pound clinking sacks, bulging with coin--those in the group who know these things estimate somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 gold pieces would fit it even one of those sacks, giving a grand total of around 5,000 gold.*

*Lena looks a bit spooked by the hobgoblin's shouting and threats, but she tries to smile as she says:*

"Well...uh...looks like the mayor is done with his last...uh...'guest'...Please, friends, please come in," and she opens the door to the mayor's office and gestures inside, where the group sees a still-handsome middle-aged man sitting behind a desk with his hand over his face and a 'what am I going to do?' expression.

(OOC: He cannot hear you; you saw him through the window--he is already out of the building. However, Rillian can see that he does not have the orcs' gear with him and neither do any of the other hobgoblins, so it stands to reason that he left it for you like he said.)

"Vrina, is it common for Jiigral to threaten the women and children of a village for money?" Cade asks her in goblin.

*Vrina shakes her head and replies to Cade in Goblin:*
[SBLOCK]
"No, not really. Threatening the men, that he would definitely do. The women, maybe. But I don't think even Jiigral would go after the children. He doesn't take no for an answer, though, when it comes to a matter of the band's welfare--and he sees every payoff as a matter of the band's welfare. He always claims that he is being assertive but 'fair'..."

Cade responds in Goblin: [sblock]"Well, he just just got done saying to the mayor 'How dare you! I should burn down the other half of your village and take the rest of your women!' Seems quite over the top for a negotiating tactic, especialy for someone carrying 2 large sacks of gold, well more than many of these poor townsfolk would see in years."[/sblock]

Cade sighs.

Rillian moves quickly to the exit from the building. Then, non-chalantly leaning against the doorframe he calls out to Jiigral:

"Hai, Jiigral, I see you have claimed the reward for the orcs WE defeated. Where is our share of the money? Oh, and by the way, where are the women the orcs took, did you even look for them?"

ooc: I apologize for starting something, but I believe that we will have to deal with Jiigral soon, and now is better than waiting for him to find reinforcments.

Somac: Male Human Barbarian3

Somac follows Rillian and stands behind him with his arms crossed as he confronts Jiigral. He keeps a watch on Vrina from the corner of his eye.

Anton looks surprised as he watches the bags of money being carried away. <I think someone is needing that more than he, likely.> "Rillian, I think we are making do with what we have--Halina will make sure that we are able to find what we need to find in order to sustain ourselves. We have other more pressing matters, I think, than money. Remember there is a girl that needs our help."

Anton stands from his seat and straightens his clothing, trying to look semi-presentable for the mayor eventhough it is obvious they have been travelling quite a bit. "After all, maybe the mayor will sympathize with us and assist us.'

He enters the mayor's office and notices the mayor is worried. "Good (afternoon?) Mr. Mayor, my name is Anton Brandovold. Is there a name you may have? We were told that visiting you may be a good idea--what is on your mind?"

ooc: I agree with Vigwyn's "solution" to the "problem" you mentioned, Rystil. I don't know why I used quotes, but.
