Adventure:Land Ho! FWBTHW (DM:H.M.Gimlord,Judge:Ozymandias79)

[sblock=OOC]Turns out it didn't matter, but for future reference: If I am marked and make a burst attack which includes the enemy that marked me, do the other attack rolls take the -2 penalty?[/sblock]

Gensai was shaken as his legs materialized on the other side of the portal. He was unprepared for the attack, which cut him cleanly. Flinching, he recoiled and quickly surveyed the surroundings.

"These kobolds... different... but how..." he mumbled. Noticing the dragon, and what was going on, he said loudly, "Focus on the Kobolds."

Turning himself, he caught a glimpse of Rujah. Unsure why, the revived swordsman felt both the need to protect this dragonborn, as well as a hatred of him. Nevertheless, he decided to distract Rujah's foe. "The dragonborn is not your enemy! To me!"

Gensai stepped backward to reposition himself; The ronin held his ancient blade out in front of him, still sheathed in the scabbard. In a swift motion, he drew the blade, and a shockwave of energy radiated out from him in all directions. Gensai's attacker was not effected by the wave, but Fenwick's grimaced in pain; apparently, it was not prepared for the strike.

With flare, he returned the blade to its sheath, ready to quickly draw again.

[sblock=Action Block, Mini-Stats]
PerceptionInitiative: 21 (-1)=20
Insight: 23 (-1)=22 (note: I messed up this roll, putting 1d20+8 in the description, instead of the roll. So I used the D20 roll from this, and added 8. Also, I forgot my death penalty until I was all done writing the post.)

Note: Gensai's Iaido-like style is for color purposes only. He is wielding one weapon and his off-hand is free. But, I think my color description makes more sense for swordmage abilities.

[sblock=OOC]No, because an attack is specific to the power, not the number of die rolls. It's a single attack that targets multiple creatures. Therefore, since the single attack includes the enemy that marked you, you suffer no penalties for any of the attack's rolls.[/sblock][sblock=Tenchuu]I need an initiative roll.[/sblock]

[sblock=HMG]Sorry. Typo there. What I labeled as the perception roll is my initiative (which is why I posted an action). As I was going through your posts, I rolled initiative. And then when I got to your second post with perception and insight checks, I stupidly thought perception and init were the same since the bonuses are the same and they are so close together in the summary of my character sheet. The dragon roars and beats it swings, and in a horrifically violent gale of wind takes to the air, biting one of its kobold assailants in half as it does. Desiring a more opportune position, it lights on a crumbling chimney, sending loose blocks tumbling to the ground under its talons.

Before the reptilian humanoids can react, the dragon breathes a billowing cloud of noxious gas that sends the little vermin choking and running for fresher air.

They do not, however, run away. Instead, they run toward the dragon, and begin climbing the wall to reach it at its perch. Some succeed in reaching the beast, but their attacks do minimal damage. The wyrm simply laughs.

The laugh, however, is a short one. from atop one of the other crumbling walls, a bolt of blue, electric power shoots across the ruins and strikes the green dragon square in the chest. Though it doesn't knock the beast from its perch, the blast certainly gets its attention. The dragon bellows, and seems to be short of breath, pupils dilated. The channeler smiles, relieved that none of his companions were hurt in the blast.

The kobolds surrounding the adventurers take damaging cheap shots at their newly intruding foes. One of them attempts to strike Riardon, but loses his balance on the wall. He falls backward, landing in the grass. Dusting himself off, he sees that the dragon is vulnerable, "Thpthpthpthpthpppp!" he raspberries at Riardon, "Why arrre you coming hhhere now." He runs to join his companions against the dragon.

Gensai's attack angered the second kobold. Dragon or no, he's not going to let the swordmage get away with that. Ploughing into Gensai, he deals a blow that knocks the wind out of the blademaster, "Therrrre. That'll teach you!" Surprisingly, as his blade strikes Gensai, burst of arcane energy sears the kobold's hands. He hollers over the swordmage's shoulder, "Skirrax! Lend us a hhhand eh?"

"With pleassssssure," The third kobold whacks Gensai on the back of the head, cutting a gash and shifts forward distracting Rujah enough to allow the fourth to deal a staggering blow from behind. The temptation to pursue Gensai is great, but the opportunity to hit a dragonborn in the back is even greater.

Rujah is so surprised by the force of the little thing's attack, that all he can do is stand there and watch the reptile scamper off to help his friends fight the dragon.

[sblock=Enemy at -D22]For -D22, after it attacked me, it takes 5 more force damage due to white lotus riposte.[/sblock]
Gensai almost fell to the ground under the force of the heavy blows. Staggering, he closed his eyes, and willed his body to keep fighting, using his mind to close up his wounds.

Opening his eyes, the swordmage straightened, looking at the kobold moving towars Mervin. "Is that the best you can do?" he mocked, trying to focus the fire on himself.

Once again, he drew his blade and sent a blast of energy outward. This time, neither creature was able to block the attack. And though no one could see it, the flaming tattoo on his chest glowed bright red.

(OOC: Tenchuu, we should probably coordinate our marking. I have several attacks which hit people I have marked extra, and my other at will automatically marks my target... and I can't move. >.> Do you mind if I hit the critter at C20?)

[sblock=HMG]No problem. This character has a lot of interrupts, so I expect this will happen a lot.

Re: Rujah's comments, can I retcon my mark?
