Adventure: Lord Byron’s Economic Woes (DM: Tenchuu, Judge: H.M.Gimlord)

[sblock=ooc]Right: the obvious downside to the light spell is that stealth goes out the window. But usually the front person of the marching order is so heavily armored anyway that stealth is not typically an option.

Mervin is also horrible at stealth.[/sblock]

[sblock=Tenchuu only]Mervin uses every bit of his insight to watch Hergunna's response to his rather direct question. Insight roll: 22[/sblock]

[sblock=Colors]If It's all the same, EB, I'd prefer you go back to the blue. That purple on the black background doesn't agree with my eyes. rastl74's is more of a light blue and yours was a medium blue, so I don't think there will be an issue. One of my NPCs was using your same color, but he is... disposable. :)

[sblock=colors]Actually, I was think I'd change to pale green from now on, just to be more distinct (and that color shows up pretty well on the black without being too intense). Would that be cool? I can keep changing it up every post too, if that helps. ;)[/sblock]

OOC: lets wait for the light spell until we get to the mine, then we'll decide from there, at the moment I'd rather not be a "beacon in the night" or whatever time of day it is right now. lol. A little busy right now so I'll have to post later with more detail.

IC: Stanng nods seriously to the others and turns to head toward the mines when the party is ready to go.

[sblock=Timewarp/At least read the last line of this block]We did get a little lost in time didn't we? No matter. We'll call it the break of dawn now; Mervin having arrived sometime before the dawn, giving everyone enough time to Eat, Rest, Recharge.

This post starts Encounter 7, but nothing really happens until you guys start moving. There might be a few boring rounds, depending on your choices. I'll probably skip some turns of yours, if I have time to post, and no action / threats have revealed themselves.

Take this chance to double check my work on the status block. Also, please give me an Initiative roll with your next roll.[/sblock]
The adventures pressed on to the mine. In a few moments, they stood at the mouth. Sun was just breaking to their east, but the inside of the cave remained a dark void. Mervin cast light on Kane's armor, and it radiated light around them.

Outside, piles of mined stone sat next to a barrel apparently used to transport them. Inside, the walls were cut roughly. There was enough room for two men to move shoulder to shoulder; at least here at the entrance. Kane could just make out a side passage on the left that looked only 1 man wide.

[sblock=Mechanics]
The inside of the mine is devoid of light sources.

Standing at the mouth of the cave, Kane looks down at his glowing hide armour, "Kind of tickles" he jokes, poking experimentally at the magic.

"Ok, there is small passage on left, I have idea. Hold on, don't move" the bugbear says, taking his backpack off and pulling out a stick. He shakes it up a few times and then tosses it ahead.

"Ahem. *Cough* Well. Now my voice feels better. Oh look, rocks!"

OOC: Can we tell what kind of mine this is? What was being mined?

[sblock=Mine]It appears they mined for coal.[/sblock][sblock=Map]

[/sblock][sblock=Lucky Break]I'll have to futz with Maptool later to figure out how to make that sunrod a light source but not player vision. For now, you got a sneak peak into that first hallway. Don't forget, I still need Init rolls. [/sblock]

// ok, jumping back in timeline one more time...

As he starts to leave, suddenly Mervin stops in his tracks; he looks thoughtful, then a bit worried. He turns around with the best fake smile he can muster. "Wait - miss, what was it? Henna-something? You said you were from Ea? Ah, um - well, this may seem like an odd sort of question, but uh: do I already know you?"

"Hergunna. HERGUNNA. Yes, I'm from Ea, from Surtyr. You don't know if you know me?" The druid peers more closely at Mervin's face and grunts. "You know what? I think maybe I do know you. Didn't you come into my lodge with those jerk city folk from down south, about six, eight years ago? Couldn't hunt worth a damn but they all got drunk and trashed my lodge!" Hergunna scowls. "You know we never did get paid for the damages."

// back to present

Hergunna peers down the corridor after Kane throws the light, searching for anything hidden.

[sblock=Rolls](Perception if possible, if we're in combat maybe this will have to wait for an action... and didn't beat passive anyway, so it's probably moot.)
