Talkrai's eyes flare with anger, although she continues to speak not a word. With thoughts of pity for the other workers, she channels her power inward and then out again. Suddenly, she is standing in front of the armored man, facing him with sword at the ready, and Jasper is now out of his reach.

[sblock=Telepathy to Jarren]Try to keep one hit from killing him if you can. This will be for nothing if even he dies.

Her "voice" sounds sad, but resolved.[/sblock]

As Talkrai’s psionic abilities flare, Ryda unloads on the Gnome, striking him dead center of the chest, blood spraying from the vicious wound. Her rage at the dead worker drives her forward, eager to resume the hunt.

[sblock=Serious?]Ryda would definately consider him being teleported across the board something serious. I meant that I wouldn't fire if he was talked to or threatened, but being ripped 25 feet through a dimensional vortex is definately unsuaul, and serious, especially since Ryda didn't know Talkrau could do that.[/sblock]

Well I have to say, I'm with you guys. This has gone from bad to worse, and I wasn't liking where it was headed. If that guy starts offing hostages, he loses all leverage - he's pretty much shown he's going to kill them all no matter what we do, at least in 16's perspective. At this point, he's going to protect everyone that's left.

I'll post my action - but Velmont, you let me know how much time/movement/whatever I have or can do.

Guys, if anyone is not cool with us going postal, please let me know now, and I'm happy to retcon/backup/whatever. It seems we have 4 out of 5 votes, but Anti hasn't chimed in and if anyone isn't cool let's discuss before moving on.[/sblock]
As the hostage is killed, Unit 16 springs into action. He dashes over to the gnome while drawing his hammer, running through the group.

"And you have made your final mistake, as the hostage taker becomes the hostage. Release Jasper and tell your men to release our companions or we will kill you where you stand. This is your final warning. You have two seconds to comply."

As if to drive his point home, Ryda's arrow flies through the gnome's lung and passes out the other side of his body.

Move: move to A32. This will incur OAs from all three of those guys as I have to move through B33 to get there - unless they can't act because this is a surprise round. I'm honestly not sure how it would work. My AC against the OAs is 27 with Talkrai's bonus if they can act.

If I have more actions, 16 will use a potion of clarity and then use Roots of Stone. I'll wait on that to see what I can do![/sblock]
 


[sblock=OOC]Totally down with this course of action, they definitely don't get to start offing hostages.

Just to confirm, we did get to take a short rest before these guys showed up, right? Encounter powers are go again? Actions kind of depend on that.

Also, I'm pondering the wisdom of healing Jasper. He's obviously debilitated with some magic effect, I'm concerned that that threat that he would die if healed might have been more of a promise than a threat.[/sblock]
