Creature regards invoker with small smile: "You have spirit, good - it is just as She foretold. Prey that fails to struggle is poor prey, it would be no sport, no challenge at all. How many of us are there? While one can say we have unfair advantage in such knowledge, it would be folly from hunter to reveal their numbers to prey - do your hunters reveal such things to their prey? I wouldn't say so.
Defeating us? Prey rarely decides to stand face to face against the Great Hunt, but it certainly happens. It will be glorious day if you do so and if you prove to be worthy prey, we will make sure to etch your names on the Pillar of Glory and proudly present trophies of the Hunt to those who will come after you. If however you manage to weather full fury of The Hunt, scatter all the hunting parties that come and finally defeat Leader of the Hunt and greatest of his hunters in all their glory and all their terror, then shall the Hunt end and never be called upon you again unless you wish so. You will be offered to lead the Hunts yourselves and your names and deeds will be held in reverence among us.
Palace of Stars? Now... we wouldn't want to make this too easy to prey, do we? You were told enough."
Thinking about monsters and fey, Cyr cannot recall much of significant use - they are most certainly magical creatures (just like most other things in Fey) and expecting at least some druidish or sorcerer magic from them along with considerable combat ability is not unrealistic, but it is hard to tell any details.

Creature smiles at warlock's remarks and questions: "Good, I don't expect you to roll over and die, there would be no sport in that, death in the hunt is a good death and I hope you prove equal to your words when we meet during The Hunt. As for rules themselves, it is simple - The Hunt forbids no resource that you (or we) might have. While the Hunt is paused, you will not be hunted and The Hunters will make no attempt to make Hunt unfair by hounding you or spying on you. However you will be treated as our enemy if you attack us when The Hunt is paused and in that case no more hunting pauses will be called. Keep in mind there are other creatures which inhabit The Hunting grounds and many of them care not for the hunt - if they attack you during The Hunt or hunting pause, it is your problem.
The Amulet? It marks you as prey, all those who came before you carried it and you carry it. However I know no more about it."
[sblock="ooc"]Most of ruins you passed are not particularly useful as defensive positions. Some might provide difficult terrain and some cover, but little else. Creatures are indeed large, but ruins themselves are quite large as well, it would be hard to find tight spots where they have trouble maneuvering but you don not. [/ooc]
[sblock="insight"]
You have feeling these creatures are good on their word - you don't think they will follow you or do anything else before The Hunt starts - it would be poor sport and it is obvious they don't intend to just try and kill you - they would already have attacked from ambush if they wanted so.
