[Adventure]: Shards of Eldanarth (DM: MadAzolin, Judge: ??)

Kane watches quietly. The giggling dryad was preferable to a tribe of hungry trolls, even if the were surrounded by a rather dangerous looking barrier. He had little to add in the way of talking, and not wanting to be laughed at for his uncontrollable stutter he kept quiet and waited.

Vermitrax also gauged the situation as Kane. His delving in necromancy would not please the creature, and since there seemed to be some gain to be have from it, he remained silent.

lerrick, MetaVoid [sblock="insight roll"] Observing of creature yields very little if any information on its motives - it doesn't seem especially impressed by your party and doesn't seem to be hostile - curiosity might be its main drive, but it is difficult to tell, you would judge the creature as dangerously unstable at best [/sblock]

"Riddles and contests? Our dear stinky champion, you really know how to please a lady. Let me play along then - I ask questions and you answer, if you get it right, you ask me back and I answer, feel free to ask whatever you want, but of course, don't expect me to have answers to all your questions. If you fail to answer, we have a little contest and when it is done, you can go. Does that sound fine to you, sure it does, right? <giggle>"

Obviously having fun, creature focuses her gaze on Martelai

"Let me start with something easy, something more akin to you then me:
'Gray it is, dark from bleak beyond The Gray; Neither Light nor Dark it still loves the day; Like death always you carry it with you, yet it does not obey; Love it we not, dark and ominous call it, yet only true dark will make it (for a while) go away'"

"Real easy, thank you, it's a shadow." Martelai smiles fleetingly

"Unfortunately, you didn't say you'll answer any question if you fail in the riddle answering so I'll ask directly, no riddles. My question:
Which is safest path out to the edge of the swamp from here that can be managed by us in time before this moon sets?
"

"Our stinky champion is smarter then he looks... not that smart however as I must answer to your question with 'I don't know' - I don't know how fast you move, what you are capable of or anything else about you, so I unfortunately I cannot answer you <smile>. I will even forgive you for trying to squeeze three questions into one <giggle>"

"My turn:
'Unseen they come in the night;
Like a soundless invisible blight;
Horrid they might be yet harm the flesh they not;
Vanish they with scream, shake and light; \
fear goes with day and comes back with night'"

"So, that's how we'll play, eh? And here I thought we're having fun, not cheating each other of the answers. It was fair single question to which you know the answer since we're walking humanoids and this is your area. I believe you know in general what our speed is, safest means safest, regardless of what we as a group are capable of. I hate asking of fellow fey question as if I'm talking to devil lawyer.

Anyhow, since you said you will not answer all of our questions, this is your right. I would hate to think you would use such language to answer single question.

The answer to your question is dreams.

Now the question: what do you know about the ruler of the palace of Stars?"

"Oh dear stinky champion, so easy to agitate I see... I so so sorry, but I couldn't answer your question - what is safe for you is not safe for me, and other way around and I would say you cannot reach any exit from the swamp before the moon sets, at least without a proper guide who will make path clear for you"
"As for your question, your answer is not right one; close perhaps, perhaps not <giggle>... don't let your agitation come in the way of thinking... but to apologize, I will give you one more try and if you fail, we have our little contest..."
