As the group tends to their wounds, light begins to shine though the trees making the party's ability to search the area an easier task.

[sblock=Gellan]
While checking out the mound you notice may partially decomposed bodies of goblin types, some big and some small. You also notice that there are two distinct types of tattoos on the bodies. One type of goblin has a V carved below the right eye. The other is a deep red scar across the chest. You conclude that something sharp and used with great force could have created a mark like that.

[sblock=Prime]
While digging through the mound with Gellan you find the lower torso of a humanoid creature, still wearing a pair of boots. Upon further inspection on the boots you realize that they are something that you can use.

[sblock=Zharne]
While inspecting the dragon you notice somthing lodged deep inside the mouth of the dragon. Carefully you reach inside the mouth and manage to dislodge the item from the beast. Opon closer inspection you recognize that it was attached there not be accident.

acane check for further information about the device

[sblock=Drew]
You notice that in addition to the bodies discovered with in the mound, that there are more similar body parts scattered well into the carved path created by the shambling mound from which it came into the campsite.

OOC:
Everyone can clearly see that they besides the path going north there is also a newly constructed crude path created by the route the shambling mound travelled to ambush your party. Feel free to communicate in character with what you decided to do. No extended rest yet.

Deeply buried inside of the mass of vines the group finds the remains of a large humanoid - just the lower torso. The feet still have some kind of sandals, tough leather soles tied to the feet and legs with a complex weave of leather straps. They are too big for anyone in the party except for Prime, who he doesn't actually need shoes.

However the construct apparently feels some curiosity for them and tries the sandals. They fit his armored feet rather well.

He also takes some time to remove his faceplate and polish the stain the dragon's acid left on it. It takes just a few seconds with a piece of cloth.

OOC: topping hit points with a healing surge

+++So, I understand vegetable mounds are not native of this terrain+++

+++Someone or something must have forced it to move.+++

+++I don't believe we have any reason to go in that direction. We should keep looking for Weinfurter and the orb.+++

[sblock=mini-stats] Prime Warforged Fighter 5
[sblock=Things to remember]
  • Prime has damage reduction 1 against all damage
  • When an enemy marked by Prime makes an attack that doesn’t include him, he can make an Immediate Interrupt to make a Melee Basic Attack against him. If the attack connects, he can push the target up to 3 squares; since interrupts happen before the action that provoked them, pushing an enemy that attacks an ally beyond reach can potentially negate the attack altogether. Notice also that this attack isn’t an opportunity attack
  • Prime has a +2 bonus to hit with Opportunity attacks and if they hit they stop enemies if a move provoked the attack. They can resume moving using other actions.
  • When Prime shifts he gets a +1 item bonus to AC and Reflex defenses UEoNT
  • When Prime hits with a power that requires a shield he gets a +1 bonus to AC and Reflex defenses UEoNT
Trigguers:
Shield Edge Block when the -4 to the enemy’s roll can negate the attack
Guardian’s Counter when an ally within 2 squares is attacked, especially if the swap would negate the attack (it hit the ally’s defense, but is not high enough to hit Prime’s)

OOC: Sharpe will use song of rest, everyone gets +5 to surge value.

How does save ends work after combat? Does it automatically end or does the dragon have to keep rolling?

Also perception=2

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Sharpe cries.

STUPID FAT HOBBIT! YOU RUINED IT! WHY DID YOU HAVE To KILL THE POOR DEFENSELESS DRAGON!

This is why I hate adventurers! They never look at the big picture, always killing things and never getting them to join their quest!

Sharpe slowly climbs on his white dragon. With a whisper he has the dragon use its giant claws to dig a massive grave for the black dragon and buries it, making a mental note to return later and have the thing resurrected.

OOC: Keep rolling to see how much damage you take before it ends

when Zharne reaches for the item he also manages to take an addtional trophy - the dragon's bloody heart, which he put in his backpack then he asks the wizard, "Do you know what this is?

STUPID FAT HOBBIT! YOU RUINED IT! WHY DID YOU HAVE To KILL THE POOR DEFENSELESS DRAGON!

"I Don't know what a 'hobbit' but if you mean Gellan, He is neither stupid or fat! and it was necessary to kill it, at least to gives us an advantage of secrecy and leaves the big bad without an additional ally" the elf says

+++I believe the dragon had a pretty good idea of what are we looking for - +++

+++it wasn't some random attack. And since the orb is meant to kill it, I don't believe he liked us much already.+++

+++I didn't count on the big dragon knowing about us so fast, perhaps I wouldn't have accepted the job so eagerly+++

Vermitras grins when the dragon falls dead. He was hoping for the reaction from Sharpe, and was not disappointed. Laughing, he approaches the group gathered around the corpse.
"This was most pleasant. I agree that the creature had to die. And we could make good monetary profit with the dragon's scales, horns and claws. I don't have the tools for the trade, but some of you could retrieve these goods." he says, looking over his shoulder to Sharpe.
As the elf shows him the item, Vermitrax takes it in his hands. Then he drops it, but before the object hits the ground, it starts to float up at Vermitrax's face by itself, as the mage studies it.

You notice that this item was placed there as a method of control. It is clear to you that whoever put it there did so so to inflict terrible pain to the dragon when triggered. Who ever did this had total control over the dragon and had vast knowledge of the arcane arts. You conclude that the creator of such a device is most likely a wizard like yourself, only one with more expertise and experience.
