[Adventure] The Paper Chase (Judge: renau1g)

[sblock=OOC]Edited my last post with a couple of corrections to current statuses inlcuding Grys's HP (I gave the healing to Baracus first and then transferred when I saw raion's later post, but forgot to adjust the surge value, doh) and the mark on the Harpy.

rb780nm - yes, it's always allowed to use a Minor Action in place of a Move or Standard action. The Immobilized status doesn't take away your Move action, it just stops you using it to move. :p[/sblock]

Since Mythra goes after Grys in initiative and Grys is trying to goad the Ogre into attacking him, you might want to retcon the direction Mythra sends the Ogre and also the direction Mythra moves to. Keeping a clear path between Grys and the Ogre instead of having Mythra between the Ogre and Grys is probably a good idea if the Ogre does decide to attack Grys.

[sblock=ooc]
Mythra could move to A 6 or 7, but I don't see a good place to slide the Ogre, I don't want Mythra to draw an opportunity attack. I might be missing a good space to put him (he slides 2 squares).[/sblock]

Moving the Ogre anywhere to the northeast would be fine. A5A6, or B5B6.

Mythra could then move to the southeast. For example, G6.

Your call, but the way you did it, Mythra is still the closest target for the Ogre. And regardless of what you do, the Ogre might still decide to attack Mythra. But moving the Ogre closer to the group means that someone might be able to eventually move between the Ogre and Mythra. That is, if we can ever get moving again. ;)

[sblock="ooc to luinnar"]I have healing 'left', but it's range 5, and requires a successful attack.[/sblock]

Serris holds his ground, waiting for something to move near him. He still glares at the Harpy and the Ogre alternately.

[sblock=Actions]Ogre and Harpy were both marked by Serris, which was why he spent the power point. If he couldn't mark both, then he still has the pp.
Standard: Holding action to Spectral Legion the first enemy to get in range. Let me know and I'll roll the attack if needed.
Save: +2 from Amulet[/sblock]

[sblock=Rolls]Save vs Immobilization at +2 from Amulet (1d20+2=22)[/sblock]

Ouch....hits on a 5 against my will? Wowzers...so at least +11 to hit...I guess I really should've grabbed a ranged weapon.

Ok well, can't do nothing so just total defense I guess

save vs immoblilize (1d20=3)

OOC: Orsik shouldn't be dazed (I saved last round and this round was only immobilize right? I rolled the save just in case - but if it isn't needed, I'd rather use that roll and save vs. immob)

Orsik drops his maul down, pulls javelin from his back, chucks it straight into harpy and retrieves his maul in a sequence that looks as if he practiced it many times.

[sblock=Actions]
Free: drop maul
Minor: draw javelin
Standard: Javelin throw (1d20+9=27); damage(1d6+5+3=9); save(dazed) (1d20+4=16); save(immobilized) (1d20=5)
- hit for 9 damage (rolled 1 :( )
Minor: pick up maul

END OF TURN: resist all 5 ENDS FOR ALL

[sblock=OOC]rb780nm - I stuck Prey on the Harpy and Vengeance on the Ogre, so you dealt 11 damage.

Cleverusername - Indeed, this Harpy is proving infuriating beyond my wildest expectations. Which is lucky, since the human thugs proved 100% ineffective. :p

MetaVoid - you're right, Orsik shouldn't be dazed. Apologies. Your first save this round was successful so you saved vs Immobilized.

raion - Mythra's slide on the Ogre put it in Serris's range, so you can use your readied Spectral Legion. Include rolls for that with your next round's actions.[/sblock]

kal'Tarron raises his holy symbol again, first calling down a curse from Balinor upon the harpy. Then he raises his first and pinky fingers into horns and calls out in an ancient tongue "You have offended my lord. I will dispense his judgement upon you" (if you understand draconic, you get the gist of the oath, if not, the intent is still clear).

Then, with his holy symbol in his hand, he launches a bolt of power at the ogre. The shot is clearly telegraphed, giving the ogre plenty of time to get out of the way - but lumbering brute that he is, he's too sluggish to avoid it and its holy power sears his flesh.

I've had enough of this! Mythra shouts. Mythra's magic tome opens on its own accord and its pages flick by, as if blown by a gust of wind. Arcane symbols appear near the Ogre and a small dust devil appears. Mythra snaps his fingers and Winds whirl around but it fails to lift the Ogre's immense weight. Mythra snaps his fingers again and this time the Ogre flings in the air and lands nearby.

The ogre is deposited within range of Serris's spear, and he gets the chance to unleash the attack that he has been readying.

Mythra uses this chance to make a break for it, running with intense speed to the party.

He draws a quick slash of the human girl's dagger as he runs from her, but the swing goes well wide of him.

"My thanks Serris." Grys says.

"Ha ha ha stupid little Ogre. Go ahead and kill the Eladrin. We don't like him anyway. If you don't attack me, I can throw fire at you all day until you turn into the largest piece of bacon on the planet. And of course, my demon friend here will suck your brains out. Go get him Keke." Grys laughs as he pulls out Keke and throws fire at the Ogre. Keke vanishes.

Baracus stands around and listens to the pretty music.

Orsik drops his maul down, pulls javelin from his back, chucks it straight into harpy and retrieves his maul in a sequence that looks as if he practiced it many times.

The Harpy takes clumsy flight once more, backing herself into the far corner of the room and redoubling the effort of her song. All our heroes except for Orsik find themselves stumbling haplessly towards her, straight into the midst of the brawl which is still raging in this corner of the room.

The ogre, seeing only one foe resisting the enchantment of his lieutenant's song (and not much wanting to put himself in range of Serris's spear again in order to continue his attack on Mythra), steps up to take a swing at Orsik. The Runepriest turns the blow aside and the ogre's club crashes noisily through the nearby table with a spray of broken glass and wood splinters.

The ragged human thuglet meanwhile seems to have decided that discretion is the better part of valour after all, having slipped through the door and run off.

[sblock=Enemy Actions]lackey 2 - OA on Mythra as he leaves B1. 1d20=5+? = miss vs AC.

Harpy's Deadly Screech fails to recharge.

Harpy moves to J14 and starts a new Alluring Song as a standard action, catching all the PCs in its burst.
Baracus - 13+? = hit vs Will
kal'Tarron - 8+? = hit vs Will
Serris - 16+? = hit vs Will
Mythra - 15+? = hit vs Will
Grys - 15+? = hit vs Will
Orsik - 3+? = miss vs Will

Everybody except Orsik is pulled 3 squares and Immmobilized (save ends).

Ogre's Angry Smash fails to recharge. He moves 2 squares south east and attacks Orsik: 1d20=3+? = miss vs AC (including -2 from Serris's mark).

Lackey 2 dodges out the door and flees.[/sblock]

[sblock=Crowd Damage]All the PCs start their turns in squares occupied by brawling patrons, and take 1d6+4 damage. Mythra: 10, Baracus: 6, Serris: 8, kal'Tarron: 9, Grys: 6, Orsik: 5[/sblock]

[sblock=Combatants]Mythra - 8/38 hp, bloodied, immobilized (save ends)
