Grys will start at G5, crouched down a bit.

"Unless the guards can hide behind the barricades and shoot, we should probably put them in the tents to start out with so that we can surprise the enemies with more of us at the right time. It doesn't look like we have enough barricades to have both us and the guards hide behind them, so it might be better if we hide behind the barricades and they hide in the tents."

Note that I've already made the map in this post

[sblock=ooc]
Just a note VV, I will use the maptools one as I've already loaded all the monster info into it. Also, there was too much in the way of fortifications in your map, there were not that many barrels available and also able to provide superior cover (as KD has asked for.) So...all the barrels are two high, each is approx. 46 inches, so about 8 feet or so, or 2.4m. The guards can hide in the tents and the noncombatants can hide in the main tent. [/sblock]

The heroes complete their preperations, the sun has fallen below the horizon and the light provided by the everburning torches keeps the darkness at bay.

The guards nervously grip their crossbows as the wait out for the ambush.

[sblock=Keke]
Keke spots a large group of humanoids moving from the east and the west, as well as smaller groups from the north and south. There's at least 15 or more people skulking through the forest. [/sblock]

[sblock=Mythra's Cat]
Mythra's Cat (I forget the name) sees that one large group of humanoids is coming from the east, led by a large man, wielding a huge club. There are two others with him, carrying their own simple weapon. A couple more have bows. [/sblock]

You can roll initiative. [/sblock]

When Keke comes down to inform Grys of the situation, he goes into action.

"You guys should spread out some." Grys says to the rest of the team. "You look like cadets at a training academy. One fireball and you'd be toast. Not to rush you or anything, but we have foes coming in from all directions."

[sblock=init]
init 21
[/sblock]

"Any specifics?" whispers the goliath as he passes by and grabs some water from the nearby barrel (if possible move to G9 before we start?)

Init (1d20+3=22) - oh no! It's one of those you start with high rolls and then you miss every attack :p
