Ryk pursues the dirgesinger around the corner, making a hunting sign with his arm that Spring has been trained to follow: "circle around". Before he strikes her, he hears Bellegon's menacing growl: "Leave that one for me."

Move: Ryk to H8, Spring to J8

minor: hunter's quarry on B2

Ryk strikes twice instead at the blade bearer and both hit, hard.

Twin strike: Critical hit and a hit vs bladebearer 2 for 26 damage total.

note: If either Ryk or Spring is hit, use Second Chance to force a reroll.

"Leave the singer to me!" Bellegon growls.

He dissapears in the shadows and emerges beside Ryk and focuses.

A pall falls over last hobgoblin and then it spreads hundred feet in all directions from Bellegon. Few gasps of surprise and fear come from the audience, Spring hisses and cringes for the moment. Sad yowling can be heard from a stray dog caught under the spell. Even Vok with his sense for goodness is somewhat appaled by the darkness.

As soon as it appeared it collapsed, running into three remaining opponents. It emerged from sword bearer and dirge singer, but stuck inside chainwielder working it's magic. Unsatisfied with the result, Bellegon glares at the dirge singer with his dark eyes. Her eyes roll back in her head and she collapses.

"Now, that's much better! Hold on elf, we'll get you out!"

Rikka gave Bellegon a long, wary glance as the dark power of his curse aura surged over the battlefield. It was, to her senses, far to close to the powers wielded by the accursed Children of Winter...

Now, however, was not the time to discuss such matters. She waved her totem in a disturbingly familiar gesture, again calling upon the winter winds. Disturbed by what she had just seen, her call was weak, and the wind spirits answered only fitfully, brushing at the crude walls but not bothering the battle-tested hobgoblins... With a soft purring growl, Rikka shifted back into the form of a hunting cat, ready to close with the remaining foes.

Crush rounds the corner of the wall just in time to see the dirge singer go down. Seeing Vok struggling against the chainwielder he shouts words of encouragement to the half-elf, "Hang in there Vaerhirmana! These toads are no match for your steel!"

He then takes the fight to the bladebearer, crashing through another debris pile that disrupts his balance and his sword swing.

[Only SH hit by cursebite; DS dropped with second attack. Not sure where you got CA on everyone other than SH (but it didn't matter). I also don't see where you are healing 7hp from (so I'm not adding that until its clarified).]

Combat Challenge Round 5

Surrounded and disheartened, the chainwielder's guard slices at the menacing half-elf. The cut run's deep, gushing fresh blood, and he uses the distraction to slip around the plain's lizard.

[Scimitar: AC 29, 11hp and shifts twice. Vok bloodied again.]

The chainwielder spits at those around him, and twists the chain again, almost suffocating Vok. He backs into the wall as if to leap over it, but a loose blade snags his foot and he is left on this side. Angered, he lashes out again with the free end of the chain, almost striking Vok but at the last moment is dodged by his vigiliance. This causes the hob to overshoot on his follow through, hitting nothing by air.

[Maintain grab: 12hp. Vault fails. Spinning chain misses twice (one critically)]

Triangles are difficult terrain. White boxes are low walls of debris; they are sharp and likely do damage to those that move into them. They can be vaulted with a DC 20 Acrobatics check; failure means end of movement. Its a DC 20 Athletics check with a running start; w/o a running start its still DC 20 but you need DC 25 to do it without taking damage.[/sblock]Status

Crush levels a metal arm, pointing at the chainwielder and emitting a clanging laugh. "Weakling! You're nothing without your pox-faced, frog-voiced wet nurse," he booms, "And that pitiful, floppy piece of steel you call a weapon is ridiculous!"

Seeing that he has roused the hobgoblins ire, distracting him from his defenses, Crush then lunges forward to take the fight to the bladebearer, swinging his blade in a wide arc.

Spring circles around his foe, incidentally helping Vok by muscling past the chain fighter (flanks w Vok) and tries to bite the swordsman's mailed gauntlet. Although his teeth don't penetrate, the saurian pulls the hobgoblin's guard aside, and Ryk clambers over the debris and hits him in the gut with the blunt haft of his tangat. The hobgoblin staggers but remains in the fight.

MOVE: Spring shifts to K7

STANDARD: Spring bites B2 (Paired Predators) (effect: Ryk shifts 3 - only to J9 due to terrain - and also makes a basic melee attack.
Spring: 17 vs AC for 15; Ryk 25 vs AC for 15 incl quarry. I'm guessing that's a miss for Spring; if not, the hobbo is down.

Status: AP used, daily used, all encounter powers used except Second Chance. Will use Second Chance on the next attack that hits Spring or Ryk.

Vok focuses more on the offensive now as his defensive strategy seems to be having little effect. He slashes hard at the hobgoblin closest to him and it leaves a divine glow on the enemy.

Vok continues his assault and slashes at the Chain-wielding hobgoblin, the attack leaving it off balance and open to his allies attacks.

AP: regain 6 hp from Crush's Tactical Presence - Guiding Strike on Chain - vs ac; dmg; radiant (1d20+13=24, 1d8+8=16, 1d6=1) Hits AC 24 for 18 (forgot +2 damage from Crush) and 4 radiant (3 with vulnerability) and it takes a -2 penalty to AC TENT if that hits.

CA on everyone is from cursed advantage (bloodied enemies cursed by Bellegon grant him CA) - on chainwielder was normal flank as he was not bloodied

7hp from using AP - I (miss?)understood that Crush grants healing on AP...

Bellegon drops one of his rods and pulls out a dagger. Shiny blade quickly darkens as shadows flow from his arm over the blade. He then plunges it into chainwielder, but it barely penetrates. Still shadows cling to the wound seeping inside. Bellegon motions with the dagger and shadows drag chain wielder between enemies.
