While Troi dismounts, whip in hand, ready to approach the door, Rinaldo at his side, Zoe uses her God-Given power to Detect Evil within.
<I'll have to look at the boo as far as Detection spells through solid objects, 3.0 was clear about it, 3.5 is not>
Sensing something Foul within, Zoe feels a Presence within the room past the Door, which then recedes away out of her range...

Thurgan looks the door and surrounding porch area over for anything dangerous. No traps does he find either on the door or the porch.

Velbrik lowers his rain-drenched hood. He watches Thurgan search, and when he looks to be satisfied, Velbrik dismounts.

"I'll tie the horses," he says softly.

Having said this, he removes a length of rope from his backpack and links them together, glancing around for a nearby tree to attach it to. Once he finds one, he carefully ties several knots.

Velbrik says quietly, "Caution is of great importance. Let's not be hasty. Don't speak loudly; we may need every advantage we can get." He draws his longsword and takes a position near the door-frame, his back to the wall immediately adjacent to it.

"Zoe, is there anything you can sense beyond the door?"

"Hmm, yeah." Zoe replies to Velbrik. "There was indeed something fishy on the other side of the door, but it withdrew. Kind of odd, almost as if in reply to my concentration. We ought to be really carefull. I have no idea what we are dealing with, except for the fact that it is clearly evil." Zoe decides this to be a good moment to draw her sword and shield.

"Well, alright," Troi says, smiling, "like I've said before, I'm always careful... I'll lead." With that, he opens the door cautiously, whip in hand and prepared to lash anything within range that looks hostile.

Zoe advances and takes position diagonally after Troi. If there's enough place to maneuver easily, she will take a position besides the ranger.

I'll try to listen inside the house. I use a parchement to create a cone, so it will give me greater chance to hear inside. I have +2 Listen

"Evil . . . well then I don' think we should knock," Thurgan said with a grim look. He listened at the door then, and when every is in position and gives the silent okay, he (checks if its locked first) then opens the door.
